Frankie Marie Ball was born Aug. 18, 1931, in Amarillo to J.H. and Annie Louise Murphy. On Dec. 3, 1950, she married William "Bill" Ball who preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 2000. Frankie worked in the public school system for 20 years. She was a lifetime resident of Dumas and a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou McMurry. Garcia DUMAS - The Rev. Juan I. Garcia, 64, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, in Amarillo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Garcia was born Jan. 21, 1943, in Taft to Juan and Maria Garcia. On March 13, 1963, he married Severa Loza. He was a welder and worked for Moore County in the road and bridge department. The Rev. Garcia was an ordained Baptist minister and was a pastor for 30 years. He had been a resident of Dumas since 1972 and was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista. "Johnny" Peery, 83, died Thursday, April 12, 2007. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Tell Cemetery in Tell. Arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mr. Peery was born Jan. 18, 1924, in Childress. He grew up and attended schools in Tell. He graduated from Tell High School in 1941. He farmed for a few years until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944. He served for 2½ years during World War II. After serving his country, he returned to Tell and opened a full-service gas station for many years. He moved his family to Turkey in 1958 where he was a partner in the Peery-Dugan Inc. Oil Co. for more than 40 years. He retired and in 1998, moved to Silverton. He was a Church of Christ member, a member of the VFW and was an avid gardener. He married Claudine Crain on April 3, 1943. He was preceded in death by a son, John Paul "Smoky" Peery in 1959. Survivors include his wife, Claudine Peery; three children, Roy L. "Pete" Peery and wife Pat of Bowie, JonEtta Ziegler and husband Brad of Silverton and Mary McMurtry and husband Kelly of Amarillo; a brother, Bill Peery of Childress; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She graduated from Wheeler and moved to Dumas in 1964. She was of the Baptist faith. She married Michael on Jan. 7, 1983, in Dumas. For 24 years, she was a pharmaceutical tech at Memorial Hospital, where she was a dedicated, loyal, hard worker and the love for her job was appreciated by all. She loved to celebrate life, spending time with her friends and family. She was an awesome mother and MeMe and was totally crazy about her great- grandbabies. Mr. Adams was born Feb. 15, 1955, in Clinton, Okla. He married Mary Sue Thompson on June 12, 1998. He had been married to Susan Cochran. He later married Julie Ann Sanders, who died in December 1997. He was engaged in farming and ranching in Hansford County and had been employed by West Texas Gas Co. He was baptized in Wesley United Methodist Church in Amarillo. He loved riding Harleys, hunting, fishing and playing Texas Hold'em. He was a member of the Spearman Volunteer Fire Department, the National HOG Association and the Amarillo HOG Chapter. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with friends and family in McAllen in 1986. During World War II she worked for the Briscoe Rationing Board. After moving to Amarillo, she worked for Kerr Paper until 1947. She had been a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Amarillo since 1954, where she enjoyed visiting and helping build the Ruth Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Wild Rose Lodge Auxiliary and the Pecos Valley Craft Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Gwen Miller and her twin brother, Johnny Lynn "Buddy" Miller, were born July 30, 1949, in Broken Bow, Okla., to John Joseph Miller and Beatrice Kilgore Miller. Gwen attended public schools in Amarillo, and lived and worked in the Amarillo area most of her life. She married James "Bubba" Jennings on July 14, 2001, in Broken Bow. They made their home in rural Randall County. Gwen was a loving and totally unselfish wife, mother, "gran," aunt and friend. Memorial services will be Saturday, April 21, in San Jose, Calif. Valerie was born Dec. 5, 1968, in San Jose to Jose Samora Jr. and Dora Maria Segovia. She was involved in the Relay for Life Organization, the Pulmonary Hypertension Support Group of Washington, fundraisers for her husband's Navy Command and family events in support of the Navy's morale. Valerie enjoyed gardening and watching sports and high school drama presentations. She loved her family above all else and considered her friends to be family. She had the ability to brighten anyone's day with her smile. Valerie will be missed by all who knew her, but in the words of her mother, "Can you think of a better guardian angel for us than Valerie?" Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Roy G.
