Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur St. Tina Gonzales has gone to live with the Angels on this day of April 24, 2007. Tina was born Nov. 7, 1953, in Gonzales Ranch, N.M., the eldest daughter of Jose and Alcarita Gonzales. She loved and lived life to the fullest. She graduated from Caprock High School on May 25, 1972. She worked hard all her life, and instilled great values in her children and grandchildren. She loved family gatherings and she loved the summertime: cruising the parks, being with family and friends. Her grandchildren were her life. She was a very devoted employee at the Attorney General's Office, where she will be greatly missed. Tina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She is now our guardian angel, watching over her children and grandchildren from above. The family would like to thank BSA Hospice and all the family and friends for unending prayers. God bless you all. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Joe. "Rooster" Smith Jr., 46, formerly of Amarillo, died Sunday, April 22, 2007, in McKinney. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Cal Farley's Boys Ranch Cemetery with Dan Martin, pastor of Liberty Baptist Church in Dalhart, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Smith was born Feb. 27, 1961, in Fort Dix, N.J. He had lived in Germany, Louisiana, New Jersey, McKinney and Amarillo, which he considered his home. He considered his time at Boys Ranch to be the best in his life. He was a graduate of Boys Ranch. He was a plumber. McMullin, 84, of Amarillo died Thursday, April 19, 2007. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Robert Ziehmer of First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Ben was born Dec. 12, 1922, in Leeds, Utah, to Ira and Hazel Hopkins McMullin. Ben was a volunteer in both World War II and in the Korean conflict in the U.S. Army Air Corps which later became the U.S. Air Force. During his time in the service he became an expert mechanic on the large bombers of the conflict. He also trained fellow service men in this area. After Korea, he and his wife settled in Amarillo, where he began a career of more than 30 years with Southwestern Public Service. He was a professional engineer with many achievements and awards. He and his wife were members of First Christian Church. Ben was a Scoutmaster with troop 24 at First Christian Church for many years and received the order of Silver Beaver Award. He was a friend and a mentor to all the Scouts in his troop. He also volunteered much of his time and talent to the community. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda McMullin; a son, John McMullin; and a brother, Floyd McMullin. Survivors include a son, Gary McMullin of Amarillo; a brother, Edward Grant McMullin of Snowflake, Ariz.; a sister, Laurel Hafen of West Lafayette, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Harold Wayne Moore of Southside Baptist Church in Tell officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Minton was born May 9, 1912, in Dalhart to Joe Percy Morris and Mary Jane Adams. She will be remembered for more than 60 years membership at First Baptist Church, where she cared for and taught second-graders for 40 years. She was a gifted hostess and extraordinary cook frequently hosting friends for meals in her home. The family is deeply grateful to the staff and all Mrs. Minton's friends at Potter's House, where she found a wonderful home and much care after she could no longer maintain her own residence. They also appreciate the staff of BSA Hospital and Hospice for their fine care. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Bill "Jew" Minton, who died in 1993; two sisters; and a brother. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Cox- LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Sprouse was born Dec. 16, 1941, in Amarillo to Ollie T. and Vera L. Sprouse. He drove a truck and did sanitation pick up during the 1960s for numerous businesses. He worked for Amarillo By-Products in 1975 until their closing and then worked for Merrit Foods until he retired due to illness. Marvin and his wife of 31 years, Karen, devoted their lives to serving others and both volunteered for Catholic Family Service for many years until he was no longer able. Marvin loved to collect miniature antique trucks and cars. He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen; his parents; and two sisters, Jaynell and Vivian, who died at birth. Survivors include two brothers, Jim Sprouse and Robert Sprouse, both of Mansfield; four children that he and Karen raised as their own, Suzie Williams of Amarillo, Joyce Nilsen of Panhandle, Agnes Aveles of Amarillo and Junior Drerup of Amarillo.; 10 nephews; and five nieces. Mrs. West was born July 2, 1921, in Desdemona. She married Merlin "Buster" West on May 26, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1988. They moved to Amarillo in the early 1970s from Pampa. She was a member of Paramount Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 760. Mrs. Champion was born Sept. 8, 1913, in Ireland, Texas, to Charles Dow and Maggie Cherry Allard. She married V.D. Champion on May 14, 1937, in Dawson. Mr. Word was born Sept. 16, 1910, in the Groesbeck community to Frank and Edna Mae Miller Word. He was a lifelong Hardeman County resident and married Dolly Tadlock on March 13, 1938, in Quanah. Third St., Quanah, TX 79252. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oklahoma Agnes L. Moss NORMAN, Okla. - Agnes L. Moss, 96, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Primrose Funeral Service Chapel in Norman with Eddie Stolz officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Mrs. Moss was born March 18, 1911, in Hereford, Texas, to James Allen and Nannie Downs Sarten. She married Luther Frank Moss on Sept. 6, 1929. She and her husband managed the Palo Duro Ranch south of Amarillo, Texas, for several years. During World War II, Mrs. Moss served as a nurse's aide at St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo. In 1950 she enrolled in the nursing program at Amarillo Junior College and received her certificate as a licensed vocational nurse. She worked at Northwest Texas Hospital for several years and as office nurse for a private physician for several years before she and her husband retired to raise stocker beef in Sulphur Springs, Texas. She and her husband moved to Norman in 1988 to be near their daughter and grandchildren. She was a member of Alameda Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Frank Moss; her parents; three brothers, Omer, Ozzie and Archie Sarten; four sisters, Lanie Vincent, Toni Vice, Ernestine Steinbach and Jewel Caudle; a son-in-law, Donald M. Christian; and a granddaughter, Terri Lois Davis. Survivors include a daughter, Jessie Christian Thompson and husband James; a grandson Clay M. Christian and fiancee Monica Setzer; a great-grandson, Michael C. He was a father to all who loved him. He will truly be missed and remembered by all who knew him.
