Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Boxwell Brother Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe of Borger, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Ruby Pauline Speegle Webb of Amarillo passed away Thursday, April 26, 2007, at the young age of 68, after her battle with cancer. Mrs. Webb was born July 7, 1938, in Pampa. She was a loving mother who touched the hearts of everyone she knew. Survivors include a brother, August Speegle of Borger; and five children, Jack Webb and wife Janet of Jacksonville, Jaquita Alonzo and husband Raymond of Amarillo, Trudy Webb of Houston, Kenneth Webb of Amarillo and Crystal Jones and husband Dean of The Colony; eight grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren, with one on the way. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Wheeler Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Stiles officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Rodgers was born Feb. 13, 1941, in Wheeler to Willie Fred and Arizona Pettit Rodgers. He graduated from Wheeler High School in 1959. Mr. Rodgers served in the Army from 1963 through 1969. He was a retired self-employed carpenter and welder. Mr. Rodgers had lived in Miami for a year, moving from Canadian. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Beth Hill and Faye Schmucher; and a grandson, Zach Rodgers. Survivors include a son, Timm Rodgers of Miami; five sisters, Mary Kennedy of California, Esther Simpson of Twin Falls, Ind., Kaye Moore of Missouri, Lois Downey of Wheeler and Mildred Miller of Pittsburg, Calif.; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Robertson Funeral Directors Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Darrell Burton, pastor of Martin Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Russell was born March 28, 1938, in Westwood, Calif., to Lee Dean and Bernice Vogel Russell. His family settled in Red Bluff, Calif. where he lived until joining the U.S. Navy in 1956. His life with the military took him to many countries and he was decorated for his participation with a commendation and a Purple Heart in Vietnam. Bill married the former Jacqueline Morrow on Dec. 8, 1967, in Bremerton, Wash. They were residents of Canton, Ohio, before moving to Clarendon 14 years ago. His move to Clarendon was beneficial for the more relaxed lifestyle and friends who helped make the transition from a hectic pace where he was a newspaper editor up North to a slower pace in Texas. Bill had worked for newspapers in Clarendon and for the Amarillo Globe-News. Prior to his illness he was employed at the Clarendon College Library. He was very much loved by all and will be missed dearly. Survivors include his wife, Jackie; three sons, Dan, Dave and Grey and their spouses; two daughters, Vicki and Julie; a brother Lee; a sister, Beth; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
