Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. today in Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel. Ms. Mason was born May 19, 1944, in Norman, Ark. She was a supervisor for the Allsup stores. Survivors include two sons, Homer T. "Tim" Mason of Mustang, Okla., and Chris Mason of Borger; two brothers, Jimmy Williams of Hot Springs, Ark., and Butch Brunt of Shamrock; a sister, Jean Terry of Shamrock; and five grandchildren. Burial will be at a later date in West Park Cemetery. Mr. Cordova was born Jan. 4, 1928, in Mosquero, N.M., to Jose Cordova and Sophia Tafoya Cordova. He married Pita Garcia in 1946 in New Mexico. Survivors include four sons, Arthur Cordova, Henry Cordova and Robert Cordova, all of Hereford, and Joe Martinez of Rialto, Calif.; three daughters, Becky Rodriguez and Susie Garcia, both of Hereford, and Diana Ramirez of Amarillo; a brother, Demetrio Cordova of Tucumcari, N.M.; 25 grandchildren; 53 great- grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stazie Rosier DALHART - Stazie Rosier, 93, died Friday, April 27, 2007. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home. Anastazie Vicenik was born May 17, 1913, in Sealy to Frank and Frances Sefeik Vicenik. Stazie attended school in a one-room schoolhouse at Cannon Hill in Austin County. She married Ray Samuel Rosier on May 23, 1942, in Galveston. They moved to Bryan in 1946. Stazie retired as manager of the Travis Elementary School Cafeteria in 1982. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003; her parents; six brothers; and three sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Vivian and husband Joe Culbertson Jr. of Rosebud, N.M.; two granddaughters, Amanda Eggart and husband Gary of Estancia, N.M., and Laura Smith and husband Josh of Rosebud; and four great- grandchildren. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where she worked as the church secretary for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a daughter, Marcia Rae Davis. Survivors include a son, Sam Anderson of Amarillo and numerous other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Hillcrest Baptist Church building fund. The body will be available for viewing on Tuesday. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- John Otis Payne John Otis Payne, 76, formerly of Amarillo, died Friday, April 27, 2007, in San Antonio. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with the Rev. Robert M. Lindley of Lubbock officiating. Mr. Payne was born June 18, 1930, in Loco to Eugenius Sterling Payne and Ruby Jewel Payne. He graduated from Wellington High School in 1948. Mr. Payne sold farm equipment for most of his career and managed Muleshoe Ford Tractor. He owned a sewing machine repair shop at the time of his retirement and continued to repair machines for several years afterwards. He was a longtime Baptist church member and an active member of Lions Club International for several years. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Blonde Nadine Payne Field, Catherine Joy Payne Johnson and Ruby Jeannette Payne Tickner. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Rice Payne; four children, Vickie D. Payne Cannon and husband Doug, Alan S. Payne, Lisa C. Payne Cave and husband Al and Jay E. Payne and wife Marci; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mattie Marie Payne Porter and Sylvia Lois Payne Sanders. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Speer was born May 6, 1916, in Heber Springs, Ark., to Gaston E. and Nina Zylstra Lafferty. She was a longtime resident of Amarillo and member of Temple Baptist Church. For many years, she taught Sunday school classes and was the church records secretary. She continued working full time until March 1 of this year, just because she wanted to! Her interests included reading books and doing crossword puzzles. She had a mission to minister to people, but especially to senior citizens, by visiting hospices, nursing homes and shut ins. She had a deep love for her grandchildren and all of their activities and accomplishments. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, G.E. "Jack" Lafferty Jr.; and a sister, Dorothy Jo Sanders. Survivors include a son, Gary Speer and wife Roya Beth of Austin; a sister, Billie Ruth Holt of Kansas City, Kan.; two grandchildren, Gary Speer Jr. of Abilene and David Speer and wife Tamara of Lubbock; and several nieces and nephews.
