He served in the United States Army. Mrs. Moore was born in Tucumcari, N.M., on Oct. 18, 1919, to Bill and Stella Vance. Mrs. Moore was raised and a long time resident of Tucumcari. She moved to Amarillo in 1991. Mrs. Moore was a restaurant owner, she loved to cook and had a passion for helping others. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte Nadine Guinn, on Dec. 7, 1970. Survivors include two daughters, Martha Kennedy and Billie Davis and husband Milfred, all of Amarillo; a son, Butch Guinn and wife Brenda of Amarillo; a stepsister, Anita Graham of Amarillo; six grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Swanson Mearle E. Swanson, 86, of Amarillo died Saturday, April 28, 2007. Osage St. Mr. Swanson served during World War II with the US Army Air Force. He had been stationed at Amarillo Air Force Base in 1945. He moved from Spokane, Wash., to Amarillo in 1996. Mr. Swanson lived a very active life and was involved in many different organizations and volunteered much of his time. His ministry was through his music and keyboard playing. He was a former chaplain, and was a member of Amarillo Seventh Day Adventist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lola Golden of Amarillo; a son, Bill Golden of Amarillo; two daughters, Tanya Riley and Katie Hagerman, both of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and eight great-great- grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don J. Morgan Don J. Morgan, 69, of Amarillo died Wednesday, April 25, 2007, in Las Vegas. He moved to Amarillo with his family in 1942. He graduated from Amarillo High in 1956 and attended Amarillo College before beginning his railroad career. He worked as a railroad engineer for Rock Island for 22 years and for BNSF for 19 years. He retired in November of 1999. He married Lois Gobel of Amarillo in 1957 and would have celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage in December of this year. He was an extremely talented builder who loved to work in his shop and loved even more building and making things for other people. He and his wife loved to travel. Don was a steadfast, committed Christian, husband, father, and grandfather. He and his wife were members of and attended Trinity Baptist Church for 24 years, and he was director of his adult Sunday school department (Adult-Median C). He was preceded in death by his mother and father; and two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Lois; a son, Gregg Morgan and wife Julie of Amarillo; a daughter, Misty Yousfi and husband Tony of Las Vegas; six grandchildren, Matt, Jaci, Molly, Ansley, Tracye and Tyler; and a brother, Jim Morgan and wife Kay of Joy. Mrs. Wyble was a loving and caring person and will be missed by all who knew her. Mr. Ruthardt was born Sept. 29, 1918, in Leedy, Okla. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during World War II. He had been a resident of White Deer since 1955. He farmed in White Deer for 40 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of White Deer. He was loved and respected by the citizens of White Deer, and will be missed by all. Burial will follow in North Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Harrison was born May 12, 1918, in Erath County to Tom and Sally Gordon Yarbrough. She married Howard Holton on June 9, 1950, in Clovis, N.M. He died in 1979. She later married Chester Harrison on Aug. 3, 1985. He died in 1997. She was a homemaker and a member of the FUMC. She was also preceded in death by four brothers; and three sisters. James was born Aug. 8, 1922, in Briscoe County to D.H. and Stella Davis. He married Frances Annell Tye in Dania, Fla., on July 11, 1945. He was a lifetime member of Silverton Church of Christ. The Davis family have farmed in Briscoe County for over 100 years, receiving recognition from the Texas Land Heritage. James was the Pioneer of the Year in 2001 as well as a 4-H leader. He was a licensed pilot and served in the Navy during World War II. He flew and landed TBF Avengers on the decks of aircraft carriers, retaining his pilot's license and remained on reserve active duty until 1966, when he went on retired reserve status. He was a devoted husband, father and caretaker of the land. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Leon Edwin Davis, in 1987. Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Fairview Memorial Gardens by Moores Chapel. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Central United Methodist Church. Mrs. Murtishaw was born Jan. 30, 1932, in Amarillo, Texas, the daughter of Edwin M. and Patricia Ruth Randall Carr. Ann had a long history of working with the federal government. She worked for the IRS in Reno, Nev.; the U. S. Forest Service in Amarillo; Procurement Services at both Clinton-Sherman AFB and Blytheville AFB. After moving to Fayetteville in 1972, she worked for the Social Security Administration, from which she retired with a total of 29 years service from the different agencies. After retiring from Civil Service, she became the office manager at Scarbrough & Murtishaw for 20 years and retired in December 2006. She was a former member of Altrusa and Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member in good standing of the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants as a business professional. She had been a member of Central United Methodist Church since January 1973 Our wife and mother gave her life to others. She had a wonderful talent for remembering faces and names. She would frequently answer the phone and address you by name before you identified yourself. Her passions were golf and traveling and wherever she went her golf clubs usually went with her. She will be truly missed by all of her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Wes Murtishaw, whom she married on Feb. 11, 1968; two sons, Wayne Wilson and wife JoAn of Phoenix and Duane Rice Murtishaw and wife Katie of Gloucester, N.J.; two daughters, Cheryl McNeil and husband Norman of Fayetteville and Jessica M. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Matador Methodist Church. Private burial will be at a later date by Seigler Funeral Home. Hal Vance Campbell was born Oct. 21, 1925, in Matador. Vance was a longtime member of the American Legion and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Matador. He attended Matador schools and was All-State in football and All-District in basketball and track for the Matador Matadors. Vance served in the United States Navy during World War II. He is a lifelong farmer and rancher in Floyd, Motley, and Dickens Counties. Vance married Betty Jean Swepston of the Floyd County Hillcrest Community, on July 21, 1945, in Oakland, Calif. After his Navy service, they returned to reside in the Cedar Hill Community for 25 years and in the Dougherty Community for the past 35 years. Their home is located in Motley County on ranch land settled by Vance's grandfather. In 1992, the family was awarded a 100 year Family Land Heritage Certificate in Austin by Rick Perry. Vance was proud to see the sixth generation of Campbell's on the land. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Ken Vance Campbell; his parents, H.H. and Ollie Campbell; a brother, Lyman Bundy Campbell; and a sister, Erin Shearer.
