Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Temple Baptist Church with Dr. David L. Bell St. Obrietta Cagle went to her heavenly home on May 2, 2007. She was welcomed there by her Heavenly Father, her husband, Fred, and a host of other loved ones and friends. Mrs. Cagle was a longtime resident of Amarillo and a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was born Dec. 11, 1917, in Bellevue to Fred G. and Eula Brown. Obrietta was a homemaker, but spent more than 40 years in the business world, enjoying spending time in both endeavors. Although in recent years her health prevented her from being active, she still enjoyed being with family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred R. Cagle; and an infant daughter. Survivors include two sons, Daryl Cagle and wife Gay Lyn of Canyon and Anson Cagle and wife Sue of Amarillo; a sister, Silva Cummings and husband Palo of Wellington; four grandchildren, Kendal Draycott and husband Jeff and Chris Cagle and wife Kelley, all of San Antonio, Monica Holmes and husband David of Midland and April Menasco and husband Michael of Lubbock; six great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She graduated from the University of Houston where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. She married Wallace W. Chapman Jr. on Aug. 28, 1944, in Laredo. She moved to Amarillo from Houston in January 1959. Mrs. Chapman was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She served her Lord in many capacities, including elder, Bible study leader and Sunday school teacher. She was recognized as a Woman of Faith in 1999. Her life's work was devoted to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Survivors include her husband, Wallace W. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Bill was born Oct. 17, 1922, in Tulsa, Okla., to Jesse Coldren Richey and Kathryn L. Frye Richey. Jesse worked in the oil fields and the family lived in numerous communities close to Wichita Falls during the 1920s oil boom. Finally, they settled in Pampa, with Bill graduating from Pampa High School in 1939. A year later, he and his best friend ventured to New Mexico Military Institute, where he began his college studies. But before graduating, Bill volunteered for the U.S. Army in 1942 during World War II and was honorably discharged after the war. He returned to Pampa, where he was the owner and operator of the Schneider Hotel Garage until he decided to sell it in order to complete his college work at the University of Texas at Austin in 1950. He then entered the University of Texas Dental School in Houston and graduated with a doctor of dental surgery degree in 1954. Bill married Carol Schlinke White on Sept. 1, 1951, in San Angelo. After graduating dental school, they moved to Amarillo. In fall 1954, he opened his dental practice, which he continued until his retirement in December 1990. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as a teacher, deacon and elder. His disciplines were well instilled in him by his parents and his Pennsylvania ancestry. He set an example by attending church with his family. After retiring, he went on missionary junkets to Mexico and Costa Rica. He displayed the same disciplines in his work with the Panhandle District Dental Society, serving numerous posts and was secretary/treasurer until he stopped practicing his profession - a very loyal member. He was a life member of the TDA and ADA. Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Pampa and the Amarillo Rotary Club and served on the board of the Panhandle Plains Historical Society and Opportunity School. He was involved in his sons' activities which included football, baseball, Kids Inc. and the Boy Scouts of America. He also kept up with the Tascosa High School tennis team. He attended numerous piano recitals involving his daughters, along with Camp Fire activities and was a support throughout his life. The family wishes to thank all the (Helping Hands) at Ware Memorial Living Center and BSA Hospice for their tender loving care. Jane Ophelia Voorhees, 97, of Dumas returned to her savior on May 2, 2007, in Dumas Memorial Hospital. Her daughters and granddaughter were at her side. She was born Oct. 4, 1909, in Wetumka, Okla., to Aaron Edward Grissom and Melvina White Grissom. She was married to James Claude Voorhees on Feb. 27, 1932. Grace was born Jan. 11, 1916, in Brice to Wayne Carlisle and Sarah LeVan El Zettie Rexrode. On Oct. 19, 1935, in Clarendon she married Raymond L. Finchum who preceded her in death. She married Elmer H. Gregory on April 12, 1979, in Albuquerque, N.M., and he also preceded her in death. During her many years as a baker in the Dumas public schools and her home business there were always long lines waiting for her hot rolls and homemade pies. Grace's cooking gained her accolades when she christened the bakery at the opening of BSA Hospital in Amarillo. After retiring from BSA, Grace joined her good friend, Mrs. Watkins, in the kitchen at Park Place Towers in Amarillo and then managed the cafeteria at Sundown Lane Elementary in Randall County until she was past 75 years of age. Her love for baking and her artistic abilities were realized in her part- time business of catering weddings. She spent many nights working until dawn on her masterpieces to the delight of many brides and grooms. She was a skilled artist in many media from oil painting, reverse glass painting, stained glass, sewing, crocheting and flower arranging to every type of hobby one can imagine. Most of all Grace loved to dance. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Winnie Mae Floyd, Mary ElDora "Tillie" Anglin and Nellie Jo Moss; and a brother, William Carlisle Rexrode. Survivors include three daughters, Sarah J. Lummus of Dumas, Barbara E. Bell and husband R. Nelson of Katy and Patricia M.
