No services are scheduled. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Conine was born Aug. 12, 1945, in New Mexico to Lee and Inez Owens Conine. He was a lifelong resident of Amarillo and worked as a custodian in Amarillo public schools. Survivors include a sister, Margaret McBride of Amarillo; and three brothers, Johnny Ray Owensby and Gene Owensby, both of Amarillo, and David Owensby of Oklahoma City. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Ruth Lenora Phillips SHAMROCK - Ruth Lenora Phillips, 93, died Thursday, May 17, 2007. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Calvary Christian Fellowship Church with Joe G. Jernigan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dozier Cemetery in Dozier by Wright Funeral Directors. Miss Phillips was born March 20, 1914, in Wilbarger County. She lived in the Dozier community most of her life working on the family farm. Diann was born Aug. 8, 1958, in Dalhart to Frank Johnson and Eva Sphond- Houston. She was raised in Amarillo and graduated from Caprock High School in 1976. She worked as a dispatcher at Jack B. Kelley in Amarillo for many years. In 1999, Diann moved to Houston and began working as a logistics analyst for Air Liquide of America. The family would like to thank the American Cancer Society for their encouragement and support during Diann's illness. Survivors include by her fiance, Bill Farriell; her children, Carmen Smith- Williams, Tyrel Newton, Angela Farriell-Campbell, Allen Farriell, and her adopted daughter, Shaniqua Jenkins, all of Houston; her grandchildren, Starlyn Farriell-Ford and Austin Campbell, both of Houston; her parents, Jim and Eva Houston of Amarillo and Frank and Peggy Johnson of Azle; two brothers, Gerald Johnson and wife Karen of Carrollton and James Houston and wife Michelle of Amarillo and their families; as well as other relatives and many dear friends. Arvie Lee Reeves won his courageous four-year battle with cancer when he went to be with our Lord in Heaven surrounded by his loving family on May 16, 2007. He was born Sept. 10, 1947, to the late Lee Atlas and Lillie Mae Sorrells Reeves in Wellington. Arvie graduated from Adrian High School in 1967. His work experiences included service station manager, construction worker, sheriff of Oldham County from 1979 to 1984 and 20 years of line hand driver for Yellow Freight Systems Inc. He married Virginia Lee Hoagland on July 30, 1967, in Amarillo. They lived in Adrian until August 1999, when he was transferred to Dallas. Arvie was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He was a member of Terrell Bible Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Virginia of Kaufman; a son, Jeffrey Lee of Adrian; a sister, Mary Ueckert and husband Lonnie of Amarillo; two brothers, Charles Benton and wife Beverly of Logan, N.M., and Dwayne Crawford and wife Christy of Kress; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; and a host of friends.
