Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. James Collins officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St. Cleveland was born May 21, 1915, in Waco to Columbus and Ollie Mae Austin. He married Florence Nails on Oct. 30, 1940. He attended public school in Waco, and graduated from Texas College of Mortuary Science in Fort Worth. He retired from Diamond Shamrock Oil & Gas Co. after 29 years of service in 1977. Cleveland was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church for more than 70 years. He was past Potentate of Ozark Temple No. 146, John W. McKinney Consistory No. 283 and Markwell Lodge No. 415. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a son, Cleveland Jr.; two daughters, Ingrid and Barbara; three sisters; and seven brothers. Survivors include a son, Melvin Austin of Flint, Mich.; a daughter and son-in- law, Hazel and Jack Montague of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Dolan Garr Jr., Byron Graves, Stacy Garr, Alicia George and Rashod Austin; and eight great- grandchildren. Mrs. Brown was born July 24, 1930, in Longview. She was educated in Longview and was an Amarillo resident for more than 40 years. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Georgia St. Mr. Fewell was born Aug. 10, 1928, in Tulia to Walter and Luella Fewell. He retired from Southwestern Public Service after working for 37 years. He began his career in the print shop and retired as purchasing agent for Southwestern Public Service in Amarillo. He served on various boards and committees during his tenure. He was a longtime member of San Jacinto Church of Christ, serving as an elder and deacon until his health no longer allowed. He enjoyed traveling and fishing. He loved flying radio-controlled airplanes and was a member of the Buffalo Flying Club. Mr. Fewell married Frances Lerline Fewell, the love of his life, on April 27, 1946. They had been married 61 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepdad; and two infant sons. Local arrangements are by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive, in Amarillo. Mrs. Fryer was born Sept. 15, 1923, to Herbert Kaylor and Sybil Petry-Kaylor in Prosperity, W.Va. She married Dewey Freeman in 1946 in Indianpolis. They were married until 1978. She married Richard Fryer in 1989 and he passed away in 2006. She had been a resident of Indianapolis since 1946. She moved to Amarillo in 2007 to be closer to her Texas family. Mrs. Fryer was a homemaker and loved cooking and taking care of her family. She loved being "Little Grandma" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a Christian woman who loved her Lord and being active in her church. She was born Feb. 20, 1963, in Amarillo to the late Orlando and Rosalie Palacio. She grew up in Amarillo and attended St. Laurence Catholic School, Bowie Junior High and graduated from Caprock High School in 1983. She was employed by Wal-Mart on Coulter for the last 15 years. Brenda was a devout Catholic and attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She had a strong faith and trust in the Lord. Brenda was a very caring and giving person and loved animals. She loved her niece and nephews. She loved joking around with her friends and loved spending her time at the casinos. Brenda will be greatly missed by the many lives that she touched. John Wagoner, retired Methodist minister of Amarillo, assisting. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Lorraine R. Mehner was born May 8, 1921, in Stratford. She was a lifelong resident of Stratford. At the age of 4 she began her music career when she sang over the radio in Fort Worth while visiting relatives. She later graduated from Texas Tech University in Lubbock with a degree in music education. Lorraine taught music to elementary school children for 30 years and gave private music lessons for 15 years after retirement. One of her greatest joys in life was teaching children to love and appreciate music. Lorraine gave her musical talents of singing, playing the piano, organ and guitar not only to her students but also to her church. She played the piano at First United Methodist Church for 45 years. She also was the pianist for Eastern Star, Prospectus Study Club and countless other musical events and organizations. Lorraine played for weddings, funerals and civic events. In 1982, she was nominated for the Texas Panhandle Award to Women for Distinguished Service in the field of education at West Texas State University. She was named Citizen of the Year in Stratford in 1983. Lorraine was truly an inspiration to many and was greatly loved by her family and friends. Her boundless energy and dedication to everything she did was only surpassed by her wonderful smile and the love she showed others. "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1942. He lived in the Lakview area for more than 80 years. He was a farmer and worked 30 years at the Lakeview Post Office as postmaster and rural carrier. He served in Europe during World War II as a medical technician and received EAME campaign medals with five Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart, Combat Medical Badge, three Overseas Bars, Victory Medal and Presidential Unit Emblem. He was a Mason, a member of the American Legion and VFW. He was a member of the Methodist church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Robertson, in 2004.
