"Porkchop" Pokrinchak Sr. Richard G. "Porkchop" Pokrinchak Sr., 75, of Amarillo died Wednesday, May 30, 2007. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St., with the Rev. John Watson officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Pokrinchak was born June 24, 1931, in Manhattan, N.Y. He served in the Navy and the Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Pokrinchak was a loving husband and father and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and a sister. Survivors include his wife, Nora Pokrinchak; a son, Richard G. Pokrinchak Jr. and wife Debbie of Ocean Springs, Miss.; two daughters, Teresa Morton and husband Terry of Springhill, Fla., and Amanda Peeks and husband Kenny of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Roy Wheeler officiating. Mrs. Spencer was born Oct. 8, 1923, in Battle Mountain, Nev., to Paul Watkins Bell and Leona Leonard Bell. They moved to Floydada, where she attended school and graduated from high school. Alice graduated from Texas Tech with a major (master's) in history and a minor in English. She worked as a librarian for 15 years in Bushland school. Alice eventually made her home in Amarillo. Alice was a member of the The Daughters of the American Revolution since the early '60s, and was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. She was preceded in death by two children, Sarah Spencer and Matthew Spencer. Survivors include a son, Brian Spencer and wife Tammy of Austin. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Johanna Gisela Brantwein Tibbets Johanna Gisela Brantwein Tibbets, 65, of Amarillo died Tuesday, May 22, 2007. Private family services will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Tibbets was born Dec. 31, 1941, in Landeshut, Germany, to August Herman and Hildagard Brantwein. She moved to the United States in 1959. In 1961 she moved to Pampa where she was employed at Furr's Grocery for many years before moving to Amarillo in 1982. While living in Amarillo, Mrs. Tibbets was employed by Helen's Fashions and also worked as a housekeeper. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Rosel Brantwein. Survivors include two sisters, Helen Brister-Kremer of Amarillo and Christa Reed of Lakeview; a brother, Vernon Brantwein of White Deer; and many loving nieces and nephews. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leo E. Roy Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Thompson was born April 3, 1923, in Memphis to Glenn and Beatrice Thompson. He attended WTSU and University of Colorado, where he completed his master's degree. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army/Air Corps during World War II in the European Theatre flying B-24 bombers. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1982 after 30 years. He was a member of Amarillo Masonic Lodge No. 731 for 50 years, Lubbock Consistory of Scottish Rite, Khiva Temple for 50 years, serving as recorder and a member and past president of Greeters and Directors Staff, and was a member and past director of Royal Order of Jesters Court No. 140. He was a life member of the VFW. He was a longtime member of ASCA, The Bridge Group and Paramount Terrace Christian Church. He married his first wife, Faye, on Nov. 8, 1946, and she preceded him in death in 1997. He married Betty Gelatt on Sept. 17, 2005. He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Peter R. Thompson, and an older brother, Dayle Thompson. Survivors include his wife, Betty Thompson; three stepsons, Herb L. Harris and wife Pat of Vancouver, Wash., Guy S. Harris and wife Donna of San Diego and Jeff D. Harris and wife Dee of Wernersville, Pa.; a special friend and sister- in-law, Jeanne Newby; four stepgrandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and his loving companions and animals, Collette and Honey Lee. He retired from Eastridge Bowl and was a longtime member of the bowling community with many awards and commendations. He married Joyce Witt on July 29, 2003, and was a member of North Amarillo Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bertie, after 53 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gene Pope. He owned and operated Fowler Automotive for more than 20 years. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Jack Fowler; and a sister, Pauline Fowler. Ballard on Aug. 5, 1962, in Mobeetie. She had been a resident of Claude since 1962. She was a member of the Le Temps Club. She went on to receive the Citizen of the Year award in 1976, being the first female in Claude to receive this honor. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, where she was involved with the youth and went on many church trips and attended other functions. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Ben W.
