She was married to Howard Harvey, and was a member of North Amarillo Church of Christ. Survivors include five children, Mary Jo Sechrist, Sonny Harvey, Raymond Harvey, Pill Harvey and Sue Potts; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., in. Amarillo. Mr. Oltermann was born Feb. 15, 1928, in Gotebo, Okla., to John Harms and Myrtle Elizabeth Oltermann. He graduated from Ada High School in Ada, Okla., in 1945. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1950 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea. After returning from Korea he taught Spanish in the U.S. Naval Academy. Upon entering the private sector, Mr. Oltermann traveled around the world designing onshore and offshore oil rigs. In later years Mr. Oltermann was a private engineering consultant in the oil industry. He married Emma Lee Crider on July 1, 1950, in Ada. Mr. Oltermann had a strong faith and loved his family. He was a wonderful husband and father and loved by all. He was a longtime active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring, and transferred membership in 2004 to Trinity Lutheran Church in Amarillo, where he had lived for 3? years. Survivors include his wife, Emma Lee Oltermann; two daughters, Kathryn Oltermann Reynolds and husband Larry of Glendale, Ariz., and Edith Kreger and husband Charles of Conroe; two sons, Steven Oltermann, M.D., and wife Judy of White Stone, Va., and Mark Oltermann, M.D., and wife Carmelita of Aledo; three sisters, Carol Dawson of Healdton, Okla., Sharon Brady of Stonewall, Okla., and Jan Weller of Grand Prairie; 11 grandchildren; and numerous loved nephews and nieces. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Wendell was born April 22, 1960, to E.M. "Spud" and Mary Moore in Pampa. He attended Wheeler schools and graduated in 1978. He graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos. He coached at Channing ISD for several years and then was engaged in farming and the oil field. He was a member of First Methodist Church in Wheeler. Wendell, a lifelong Wheeler native, will be remembered as a kind-hearted gentleman, an animal lover and soulful guitar player. While we will miss him dearly during our journey on Earth, we are comforted by his presence in heaven with his loving parents and the peace he now has. He moved to the Friona area in 1951 from Littlefield. He married Johnnie Evans on June 14, 1952, in Littlefield. He was a retired farmer and mechanic. He was a member of the Tenth Street Church of Christ in Friona. He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association, American Motorcycle Association, Friona Jaycees (former member), Hereford Lions club, Friona Noon Lions club and was district governor of District 2T1 in 1996-97. He served in all offices of both the Hereford and Friona clubs. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Ed Walters.
