Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Kevin Deckard officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Swinney was born Jan. 19, 1916, in Ripley, Miss. She moved to Amarillo in 1939. She was a friend, loving wife, sister, aunt, grandmother and great- grandmother. She married Walter Ellis "Swede" Swinney on June 3, 1933. They had three daughters. She was a homemaker for many years and then worked in retail sales at Sakowitz. She worked and studied very hard to get a real estate broker's license and worked in that field for many years before retiring in her 80s. She was a member of the Amarillo Board of Realtors for more than 20 years. She and her husband were some of the original members of the Homebuilders' Class at Polk Street United Methodist Church, and she loved her church and loved the Lord. Her favorite verse was the Lord's Prayer. She was also a member of the Home Arts Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; a sister; a son-in-law; her husband; and her beloved young daughter, Barbara Ann Swinney. Survivors include two daughters, Sarah Dworzack Ray and husband Don of Amarillo and Sue Mathiasmeier and husband Bob of Los Alamos, N.M.; her younger sister, Frances Bouyea; three grandchildren, Carey Peavey and husband Jim of Amarillo and their daughters, Kate and Peyton Peavey, Scott Mann and wife Tekla of El Paso and their daughters, Reese and Caroline Mann, and Kelly Mathiasmeier of Florida; four stepdaughters, Laura Dworzack Moore of Denver, Dawn Reagan and husband Mike of Wisconsin, Robin Marlar and husband Jeff and their two children and Shari Smith and husband Jeff and their two children; and several nieces and nephews and their families. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in St. John's Baptist Church with the Rev. Grover Neal, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford- Walker Mortuary, 500 N. Hughes. Mrs. Collins was born Dec. 4, 1940, in Tacoma, Wash., to Dan and Bettie McQueen. She grew up in Spokane and Pullman, Wash. In 1961, she met Owen Collins who became her husband and they lived alternately in Washington, Texas and California. In 1992, they became permanent residents of Amarillo. She worked in the dietary field for more than 25 years before retiring in 1998. After retiring, she attended Amarillo College to study computer science. She was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Roberts of Tacoma, Wash and her grandparents, Carroll and Esther McQeen of Pullman, Wash., Jock Collins of Tucson, Ariz., Owen Collins Jr. of Maine, Eileen Graves of Amarillo and Bruce and Dean Two of Cabo, Ark. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Kelly Siebecker of Con Crete, Wash, Jacquline Collins of Spokane, Wash. and Deborah Collins and husband Billie of Amarillo; two step-daughters, Clara Durr of Spokane, and Mona Trunk of Renton, Wash.; her parents, Dan McQueen of Spokane and Bettie Maduzia of Tacoma; siblings, Larry McQueen and Dan McQueen, both of Anchorage, Ala.; Rocky McQueen of Otis Orchards, Wash., Jane Helgelien of Orting, Wash., Jeri Munford and Juli Harris of Washington State; nine grandchildren, including Elishea Hall and Eazeale Collins that she raised; 18 great-grandchildren; her loving friends, Edna Neal, Kay Mickie and Max Stanhope; and several nieces and nephews. Virginia "Chella" was a loving wife and mother who offered her heart and home to everyone. She was very proud of her children and her many grandchildren. Chella had many friends who will miss her loving personality. God bless her and she will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Garcia; her mother, Mencia Romero Gauna; her father, Perfecto Gauna; a daughter, Annie Pineda; and three brothers, Lencho Gauna, Max Gauna and Alfonso "Toto" Gauna. Mr. Bonham was born July 11, 1957, to Jimmy Joe and Bonnie Bonham in Burkburnett. He moved to Gruver in 1969 and was a member of Gruver Church of Christ. As a young man, Mr. Bonham worked at the Holt Farm and then as a gas attendant for Darrel Shelton. Later he worked for Mr. Shelton in the oil field. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He joined with his father, R.B., and together they owned and operated Peery Construction for many years. He attended Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Richard Peery and wife Linda, David Peery and wife Becky, all of Fritch and Mike Peery of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Shane, Brion, Misty, Kari, Meagan and Brandon and 10 great- grandchildren. Duniven DUMAS - Elsie L. Duniven, 92, died Saturday, June 9, 2007, in Stratford. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Dumas Cemetery with John Green, family friend, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Duniven was born Sept. 14, 1914, in Higgins to Ida Belle Ballard and Arthur Nelson Laughry. In 1936, she married Grady G. Duniven in Arnett, Okla. They operated a grocery store in Dumas from 1942 until they retired in 1971. She was the light and love of her children's lives. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Opara and staff, Dumas Memorial Hospice and Coldwater Manor and staff. Mrs. Durham was born April 20, 1912, in Comanche, Okla., to Isaac and Anna Courtney Stroud. She lived in Panhandle for more than 50 years. She was a homemaker and a Catholic. Mrs. Durham was preceded in death by her husband, Lee J. Durham in 1986; a son Donald Durham in 1999; a daughter, Ruth Elaine Atens in 1999; and a brother, Melvin Stroud in 2006. Irene was born May 12, 1928, in Huntoon, to George Latham and Lilly Jewell Latham. She attended grammar school in Huntoon and was a graduate of Perryton High School. She married Jack Voorhees on May 12, 1946, in Booker. They moved to Canadian in 1968 from Perryton. He preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1977. Irene worked for the United States Postal Service as a clerk until retiring in 1989. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheryl Shaw on Feb. 6, 2006. She also was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Survivors include a son, Barry Voorhees and wife Karen of Canadian; two daughters, Sandy Boyer and husband Lynn of Arlington and Sharlene Kuhne and husband Bill of Los Banos, Calif.; 20 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren.
