Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Gruver United Methodist Church with the Rev. George Price and the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Burial will be in Gruver Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. Mr. Floyd was born Dec. 24, 1932, in Spearman. He married Elaine Daily on Jan., 18, 1953, and she died in 1992. He married Mavis Hart on June 1, 1999. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during the Korean conflict. He was a member of Gruver United Methodist Church. Don was instrumental in installing state of the art coronary unit monitoring instruments at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock and Hansford Hospital in Spearman as well as many others. Survivors include his wife, Mavis Floyd; two daughters, Donita Lusby and husband Ronnie of Spearman and Peggy Culp and husband Gary of Amarillo; a son, Mike Floyd and wife Suellen of Arlington; two stepdaughters, Kelley Richardson and husband Trace of Vega and Terri Breaux and husband Kevin of Austin; a stepson, Kevin Hart and wife Terry of Gruver; two brothers, Jerry Floyd and wife Shirley of Claude and J.D. Floyd of Salt Lake City; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He married Ouida Eudell Hancock on Dec. 22, 1945, in Pampa. Survivors include his wife; and a daughter, Dian S. Mr. Garza worked for West Hills Texaco for 17 years and he also worked for Advance Auto Parts. He had been married to Delores Lopez Garza for 22 years. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend. He loved his grandchildren with great passion. Mr. Garza cherished his family and friends deeply and was always willing to help others in need without questions. He chose respect and happiness over money. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Alex, Pedro Jr. and Ramon Garza; and a sister, Sandy Renteria. Shirley was born Nov. 18, 1925, in Lubbock to Ray W. and Alva McBride Allen. After graduation from Lubbock High School, she attended Texas Technological College. She married Eugene "Gene" Boyd on June 11, 1960, in Lubbock. Her professional career in banking began in 1944 with Citizens National Bank in Lubbock. She joined American State Bank in 1953, became a stay-at-home mom in 1961 and returned to the bank in 1970. She earned her way to the position of vice president and retired on Jan. 25, 1991, after more than 25 years of service with ASB. After her retirement, she served as a volunteer with the Covenant Lakeside Auxiliary, formerly St. Mary's Auxiliary, and served several terms as secretary to the Auxiliary Board, both right up until her passing. Shirley loved her family. Her children were the center of her life from the time they were born and in recent years she took great joy in spending time with her youngest grandchild, Nathan. She enjoyed fishing, making crafts, the challenge of working jigsaw puzzles and especially her many daily crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Neil and Joseph Allen, who died during childhood. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Eugene "Gene" Boyd; two children, Becky Weeks and husband Don of Amarillo and Ron Boyd and wife Stacie of Lubbock; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
