Georgia St. Mrs. Russell married Erwin Russell in Dallas on Nov. 7, 1948. She always said, "I had the best life, husband and family." She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rustine Thomas, in November 1984, and by her husband on Jan. 25, 2003. Survivors include a son, Trey Russell and wife Cheryl of Amarillo; three grandchildren, C'Anne Weldishofer of San Antonio, Robert Russell of Amarillo and Teresa Russell of Denton; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Pennington was born Dec. 22, 1923, in Cherokee County to Willie and Jessie Pennington. He had been a bellman at various hotels in Texas during his working years. Smith Grady H. Smith, 89, of Amarillo died Thursday, June 14, 2007. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Schooler Gordon Funeral Directors Chapel, 5400 S. Grady Hershel Smith was born Nov. 18, 1917, in Cherokee County, Ala., to William H. and Ola Barnes Smith. He went to Heaven on June 14, 2007. Grady was a dedicated Christian who loved his family dearly. He married Opal Stinger on Aug. 1, 1937, in Sand Mountain, Ala. Grady and Opal moved from Fort Payne, Ala., to Amarillo in 1955. He retired from Amarillo Brick Laying Co. He was a member of Paramount Baptist Church. His greatest gift was helping others, and anyone in need received one of his delicious homemade pecan pies. He was devoted to his family and friends. His love for life and people will continue and his legacy will live on in those who love him. He remained very active and kept in touch with family and friends throughout his life. He cherished his darling wife, Opal. Granddad, always remember the Alpine in Red River, we will love you forever. The family wishes to thank everyone for all their love and support. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Smith and Flora Smith Hicks. Mrs. Trimble was a member of Trinity Fellowship in Pampa. She was a volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House, HOST Mentoring Program, and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Henderson was born Aug. 27, 1931, in Madison, S.D., to Edward and Alvilda Hines. She married Carl Henderson in 1966 and lived in Dimmitt for many years being a homemaker. Survivors include a son, James Rosenberry of Dimmitt; five daughters, Teresa Hanson of Oklahoma City, Victoria Rarrick and Lois Huffman, both of Aztec, N.M., Lori Rarrick of Carlin, Nev., and Kari Berry of Holdenville, Okla.; a brother, Clarence Hines of Lansing, Mich.; a sister, Barbara Hines of Madison; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- J.C. "Racehorse" Collins BORGER - J.C. "Racehorse" Collins, 93, died Thursday, June 14, 2007. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountains with Mary Ingram officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. Mr. Collins was born April 3, 1914, in Emory to Bumpus Captain and Minnie Lee Collins. He lived in Acme and attended school in Goodlet where he graduated from the eighth grade. He moved to Borger in 1927, and was one of many pioneers in the boomtown era of Borger. Racehorse Collins lived life to the fullest and did it his way. He was known in the Quanah and Borger areas as a distance runner. He got the nickname Racehorse when he won a car on a bet that he could run from Stinnett to Borger in less than an hour. He enjoyed racing motorcycles and collecting automobiles of all kinds. Racehorse loved to make people laugh and always had a joke to tell you, but he also had many stories about his life and the early years of Borger. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly. He was their dad, granddad, great- granddad and their best friend. Mr. Collins was a retired union electrician and a 55-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Borger. He married the love of his life Leona G. Leonard on July 21, 1936, in Borger. She preceded him in death on Sept. 6, 2006. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ola Mae McNutt and Lola Mae Leonard; six brothers, twins Floy Collins and Roy Collins, Eugene "Bud" Collins, Lewis Collins, Claude Collins and Homer Collins; a granddaughter, Nianglia Jones; a son-in-law, Stacy Jones; and a sister-in-law, Jesse Dean McCarter. Survivors include two daughters, Paula Diamond and husband George of Amarillo and Sonja Reeves and husband Dwain of Borger; two brothers, Robert Collins and wife Imogene of Sunray and B.J. Collins and wife Helen of Redding, Calif.; six grandchildren, Stephanie Mashburn and husband Dell Ray, Paul Shannon Sisneros and Chadette Miller and husband Steve, all of Amarillo, Raymond Curtis Sisneros and wife Laura, Deborah Chowins and husband Billy and Stacy Jones Jr. and wife Beth, all of Borger; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren. She was a graduate of Memphis High School. She married Ronald Wilson Sr. on Oct. 23, 1952, in Clovis, N.M. Bonnie was owner and operator of Pounds Cafe, Big O and the Branding Iron restaurant until retiring in 1980. She was a lifelong resident of Hall County and the Travis Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Red River Red Hatters Club and Club 51. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Stevo was born Feb. 11, 1988, in Lockney to Sabrina Young and Stanley Williams. Mrs. Lewis was born April 30, 1923, in Bristow, Okla. She had been a resident of Pampa for 35 years before moving to Dallas in 1973. She returned to Pampa in 2004. She was a retired employee of the Texas Turnpike Authority and was a bus monitor for the Dallas County School District. She was a member of Bible Church of Pampa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hacha and G.H. "Skinner" Kyle; two brothers, Kenneth Kyle and G. H. Kyle Jr.; and three sisters, Ruby Stanton, Evaughn Bowermon and Betty Bray. She loved crocheting, quilting and playing bingo, and was a member of Senior Citizens Baxter-Curren Hall and Shuffleboard Club. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Dorothy was born Jan. 26, 1927, in McLean, Texas, to Houston and Allie Belew. At a young age she and her family moved to the Seneca area in Union County. Dorothy graduated from Clayton High School in 1944. She married James Bailey Kimble Jr. on Nov. 12, 1947. She lived most of her life with Jimmy while they raised their family on a ranch near Mount Dora in Union County. Jimmy passed away in 1986. In 2005 Dorothy moved to Lubbock, but her friends from and memories of Clayton and Union County always remained in her heart. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, H.W. (Jack) Belew and Wilson Belew.
