He married Ruthie Naomie Worth on Jan. 22, 1959. He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Richard Briant. Mrs. Matlock was born in Hereford to Walter and Maude Ann Donald on April 19, 1909. She attended school in Goodnight and graduated from Claude High School. Mrs. Matlock went on to graduate from Amarillo College with an associate degree. She married Spencer A. Matlock in 1936 in Goodnight. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2001. Survivors include two daughters, Myrna Knierim of Carrollton and Ann Blankenship of Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, Bill Matlock and Don Matlock, both of Amarillo; a sister, Isla Hooker of Garland; seven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Interstate 40. Pauline was born Aug. 24, 1921, in Happy to Albert G. and Nora Jane Bills Harvey. She moved with her parents to Amarillo when she was 5 years old, and remained a lifetime resident. Pauline was an accomplished artist, painting everything from beautiful irises to birds of every sort. Pauline was a former member of the Amarillo Iris Society. Pauline was blessed to be able to travel abroad for many years. She traveled to many beautiful places such as Alaska, London, Paris, the Bahamas and the Panama Canal, as well as traveling across America with her church group. Mrs. Norton was a Montessori and kindergarten teacher at Amarillo Christian School for more than 25 years. She was a member of Comanche Trail Church of Christ. Pauline will be loved and missed by all. She was preceded in death by a son, Don Kyle in 1972; two husbands, Frank Kyle in 1979, and Raymon Norton in 2000; and her parents. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Mitchusson was born Sept. 11, 1934, in Hughes, Ark. He moved to Amarillo in 1955 from Forest City, Ark. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959. Mr. Mitchusson worked for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 30 years. He retired in 1989 as a clerk supervisor. After his retirement from the post office, Mitch worked at the Amarillo Globe-News in the mail room. He married Reba Hayhurst on April 20, 1957, in Amarillo. He was a member of Cowboy Church and the Arena of Life. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Moran was born Oct. 5, 1913, in Childress County to Fred and Lillie Halford Moran. Mr. Moran served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Fort Worth and Denver Railway for more than 16 years before buying his own farm. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Francis Earlene Bradford in 2004 and Freddie Louise Moran in 1943; his parents; and two brothers. David grew up in Plainview and moved to Amarillo in the early 1950s. He was a truck driver. He married Dollie Deam Thomas on Oct. 13, 1969, in Amarillo, and they raised three children. Vise was born March 30, 1926, in Hemphill County to Gaddy and Ina Mae Vise. He married Rosemary Finsterwald on Dec. 26, 1948, in Wheeler. Mr. Vise enlisted in the Navy, and served in the Korean War. He lived in Wheeler where he worked farming and ranching. He was an active businessman in the Wheeler community for many years. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Vise and Johnn Lynn Vise; and his wife, Rosemary. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Amarillo, Texas. Deirdre was born Aug. 1, 1969, in Albuquerque, N.M. She attended schools in Dearborn, Mich., Terre Haute, Ind., St. Cloud, Minn., Warrensburg, Mo., and Amarillo, graduating from Amarillo High School in 1987. She attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and the University of Texas at Dallas. Deirdre attained considerable success coaching girls' and women's gymnastics at clubs in Dallas, Austin and Georgetown in Texas, in Steamboat Springs and Craig in Colorado and at the University of Texas at Austin. During her tenure, 1996-2002, the UT women's gymnastics team won National Intercollegiate Club Championships in 1998, 2000, 2001 and 2002. In each of those years Deirdre was named Coach of the Year for collegiate women's gymnastics in Texas. In Colorado, Deirdre developed careers as artist/artisan and as holistic healer, practicing energy medicine, massage therapy and a variety of other healing techniques. Survivors include her parents, John and Olive Bernard of Amarillo; a sister and brother-in-law, Dr. Catherine Bernard and Joseph McMenimen of Snowmass Village; an uncle, Aidan Murphy of Cork, Ireland; and numerous cousins and other relatives.
