Services will be at 4 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with Dale Travis, pastor of Family Life Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mr. Hernandez was born May 23, 1988, in Amarillo to Juan and Norma Baldivia Hernandez. He graduated from Canyon High School in 2007, and was a member of the football team. He was a friend and helper to everyone and a wonderful son, grandson and father. Survivors include his parents, Juan Jr. III and Norma Hernandez of Canyon; a brother, Emmanuel J. Hernandez of Canyon; a daughter, Bonnie Jordan Lillie Hernandez of Canyon; his grandparents, Minne Hughes and Duane Hughes of Dallas, Juan Hernandez Jr. II of Pharr, Alices Zapata of Amarillo; and his fiancee Ellery Dirickson of Canyon and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. on today in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo with Bright Newhouse, Church of Christ minister from Clarendon, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Dr. Howell was born in Sherman to James Frank Howell Sr. and Mamie Gunn Howell. He married Dikki Poe on Feb. 4, 1950, at Fort Worth. He served his country in World War II and the Korean War with the Army and the Air Force. He received his Doctorate of Dental Science from the University of Pennsylvania. He was dentist for many years in Amarillo and Clarendon. He was Catholic. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Zachary John Howell on Dec. 18, 1973. Survivors include his wife, Dikki Howell of Clarendon; four sons, James Howell and wife Leanne of Midland, Tim Howell and wife Teresa of Amarillo, Joe Howell and wife Rhonda of Clarendon and Pete Howell and wife Vonna of Amarillo; a daughter, Tessie Robinson and husband Jim of Clarendon; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He married Paula Sandoval on Nov. 29, 1940, in Mexico. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas. Lad was born Nov. 19, 1954, in Guymon, Okla. He graduated from Texhoma High School and then Midwest Christian College. He earned a master's degree from Texas A&M in Corpus Christi and later received his Ph.D. He married Myra Myers on Aug. 8, 1999, in Canyon. Lad was a licensed professional counselor and minister at North Plains Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jewel "Julie" Jones. Georgia St. Mr. Bivens was born June 28, 1923, in Swisher County and passed away in Amarillo while recuperating from heart surgery. Jack was the oldest son of Luther and Virgie Bivens of Tulia. Jack was the owner of Bivens Automotive in Groom until he retired in 1987. He served as a Marine in World War II and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Jack made his living with his hands and they became calloused and hard, but his heart was always soft and tender. He was a true friend and a good provider. He loved the community in which he lived, and worked to make it a better place. Jack has found peace in the arms of God. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Billie; a son; three sisters; and a brother. Survivors include his wife, Juandell Bivens; two sons, Billy Jack Bivens of Filer, Idaho, and Mark Bivens of Groom; two daughters, Andrea Jennings of Houston and Lynette Bivens of Luther, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Drew Hendricks, Shannon Jennings, Brianna Bivens, Braun Bivens, Brauc Bivens, Cody Bivens, and Magan Bivens; and a great-grandson, Ty Hendricks. She received a master's degree from West Texas State University and taught for many years at Highland Park School. She was a long-time member of River Road Baptist Church where she played the piano. She loved children and loved to travel. Survivors include a daughter, Tommie Crowell of Houston; a son, Billie McCauley of Amarillo; a sister, Donnie Merle Burton of Round Rock; and a grandson, Bryan McCauley of College Station. He was a U.S. Army vetern and served in the European campaign in World War II in France, Italy and North Africa. He was a retired carpenter from the U.S. Bureau of Mines Helium Plant and a member of Carpenters Local 665. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister. Survivors include his wife Dorthia; a son, Donnie and wife Patricia of Amarillo; a daughter, Linda and husband Loyd of Amarillo; three brothers, Homer Hamilton and Joe Hamilton, both of Amarillo, and Bill Hamilton of Iowa Park; a sister, Alda Hart of Amarillo; four grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
