Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Floydada Cemetery with Les Hall, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating, Arrangements are by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Carl was born Sept. 14, 1922, in Petrolia to Carl and Gladys Neff Arnold. He graduated from Floydada High School in 1940 and graduated from Texas Technical College in 1943. Carl attended Naval Officers School with service in the Normandy invasion and Pacific theatre. Carl lived in Amarillo for 60 years. He farmed and ranched in Randall County. He was a supporter of Boy Scouts of America and other youth programs. Survivors include a brother, Robert N. Arnold of Lubbock. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Esther Forrester WHEELER - Esther Forrester, 93, died Sunday July 1, 2007. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Pampa with Dr. Shawn Johnson, minister of Church of Christ in Wheeler, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home. Esther Forrester was born Aug. 26, 1913, in Comanche, Okla., to E.A.J. and Bessie Duvall. She married O.L. Forrester on Oct. 10, 1931, in Comanche. She moved from Fritch to Wheeler in 1974. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Lloyd Forrester in 1997. Survivors include three sons, Glen Forrester and wife Linda of Wichita Falls, Ed Forrester and wife Patricia of Wheeler, and Gerald Forrester and wife Harriett of Plano; a brother, Odes Duvall and wife Mary of Duncan, Okla.; two sisters, Marie Burton of Duncan and Frankie Selvidge of Friona; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gore was born on Jan. 14, 1922, in Dewey County, Okla. She married Keith Allen Gore on Jan. 11, 1942, in Lenora, Okla. Survivors include a son, Allen Gore of Yukon, Okla.; a daughter, Linda Griffin of Friona; four sisters, Jetta Edlin of Louisville, Ky., Ann Jackson of Borger, Vernila Hamar of Weatherford, Okla., and Alfreda Boren of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Schelin of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ola Bradshaw Stone CLARENDON - Ola Bradshaw Stone, 92, died Saturday, June 30, 2007, in Mineral Wells. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with Bright Newhouse, Church of Christ minister, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mrs. Stone was born Feb. 5, 1915, in Hobart, Okla., to Benjamin and Elizabeth "Bessie" Dillard Flowers. She married Gabbert William Bradshaw on Jan. 21, 1936, in Hobart. He preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 1978. She then married John Tas "Jay" Stone in 1982. He preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 2006. She was a restaurant owner, Borden's milk distributor for 25 years, and a homemaker. She had been a resident of Clarendon since 1944 before moving to Mineral Wells in March 2006. She was involved with family and enjoyed helping others. She was a great cook for family and friends alike. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clarendon. She was preceded by her husbands; her parents; a brother; and three sisters. Survivors include four sons, Billy Bradshaw and wife Dianna of Wilmington, N.C., Dennis Bradshaw and wife JoAnne of Mineral Wells, Douglas Bradshaw and wife Ann of Benbrook and Roger Stone and wife Pam of Lawrence, Neb.; two sisters, Revella Skypala of Hereford, and Claudia Blythe and husband H.D. of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great- grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Floydada Cemetery with Glen Switzer officiating. Arrangements are by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mrs. Switzer was born Sept. 22, 1918, in Chest Mound, Tenn., to William J. and Jennie Waller. She married G.W. Switzer on Jan. 3, 1938, in Floydada. They were happily married for almost 40 years. He preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 1977. Mrs. Switzer moved from Floyd County in 1999 to be near her children. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She loved gardening and tending to her flowers. She handled the cradle roll for the church. Survivors include a son, Don Switzer of Amarillo; a daughter, Peggy Leopold and husband Bob of St. Cloud, Fla.; a son, Glen Switzer and wife Trudy of Amarillo; three sisters, Vera Thornton and husband Ray of Tulia and Ina Jean Anderson and Eva Richardson, both of Lubbock; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are by Funeral Alternatives in Tumwater, Wash. Mr. Logan was born Aug. 22, 1927, in Topeka, Kan. Ron and his family moved to Amarillo, Texas, in 1966. Ron was divorced from his first wife Margaret in 1971. Ron remained in Amarillo through 1973. With his second wife, Kimberly, Ron traveled to many places, making new friends wherever he went. They settled in Topeka in 1993, where Kim was a psychiatric nurse at the V.A. Hospital. Following Kim's untimely death in 2003, Ron began traveling the country visiting his family and many friends. Survivors include two brothers, Jim Logan of Cedar Point, Kan., and Bob Logan of Malaga, Wash.; his first wife, Margaret Logan; two sons, Larry Logan of Olive Branch, Miss., and Dean Logan of Amarillo; two daughters, Susan Johnson of Greensboro, N.C., and Diane Hester of Lacey; and grandchildren, nieces, nephews and countless great friends. She married Herbert Edward Grinstead on Feb. 4, 1950, in Burlington. She graduated from Burlington High School and Burlington Business College. Alice had worked for Sylvania, New London Community Schools, New London Bank and GCR-Firestone. She was a former member of New London United Methodist Church and was a member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church. She was a 50- year member of New London Chapter 440 O.E.S. Alice enjoyed family, friends, reading, pets and special friends in Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, David McElhaney; and two sisters, Ethel McElhaney and Mary Black.
