Celebration of life services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darren Skinner officiating. Arrangements are by Hereford Heritage Funeral Home. Grant was born July 21, 1918, in Pilger, Neb., to John and Dell Hanna. He graduated from high school in 1939 and was drafted into the Army during World War II. He came to Hereford as a soldier stationed at the POW camp. Upon returning from overseas, he married his lifelong soul mate of almost 62 years, Troyce Stambaugh Hanna. He was the first Dekalb Seed dealer in the Texas Panhandle and the first to introduce hybrid grain sorghum into Deaf Smith County with a test plot grown on his farm. "Hanna," as he was known by many, owned Hanna's Coffee Shop for locals to meet and eat. He retired in 1993 from Holly Sugar plant. Grant was a 63-year life member of the American Legion, having served as 18th District commander and offices in Hereford Post 192. He was a 60-year member of the Masonic Lodge, a 50-year member of Scottish Rite and VFW, a charter member of Oasis Shrine Club, a life member of Khiva Shrine Temple and a 19- year member of Order of the Eastern Star. Past leadership includes: president of Golden K Kiwanis, director of Farm Bureau, director of Veteran's Park board, charter member of Jaycees, charter board member of the research farm of Halfway at Olton, charter member and president of Grain Producers, director of Consumers Fuel Co-op, director of Hereford Senior Citizens Association; board of directors of Rest Lawn Cemetery, King's Manor founder's board and Deaf Smith County school board. Grant helped with the business flag service on holidays, taught flag etiquette, ordered flags for individuals, folded flags at funerals and helped retire worn flags. Hanna was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church serving as a trustee, lay leader chairman, president of Methodist Men and administrative board member. He cooked his famous chili for the church and many groups throughout the years. Community service awards include the Bull Chip Award by the Hereford Chamber of Commerce and Golden Trowel Award from the Grand Lodge of Texas. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cynthia Shattles of Perryton and Joette Hanna of Dallas; a granddaughter, Michelle Augustine; and two great- granddaughters, Emily and Shay Augustine of Amarillo. She played softball and would have been a senior this fall at Dumas High School. Jackie was a lifetime resident of Dumas and a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She was a loving aunt to her nephew, Dominic Quiroga. She lit up our lives with her smile and her laugh. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She attended schools in Peerless. She married Bob Booth on March 10, 1939, in Commerce. He preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1999. They moved to Memphis in 1939 from Commerce. Eula cleaned houses for a living and was a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Booth; a daughter, Laverne Booth; a son-in-law, John Middleton; 11 brothers and sisters; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Our beautiful and precious Lauren Ashlee went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday evening, July 1, 2007, after a tragic car accident. Lauren Ashlee Taylor, 14, was born Sept. 10, 1992, in Guymon to Vicki Jo Stephens and Michael Lee Taylor. Guymon was home to Lauren Ashlee until moving to Missouri in 2004. She was an active member of and was baptized in Guymon Church of the Nazarene. In Missouri, she enjoyed her new church, New Hope Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by an aunt, Lacrisha Diane Earls; an uncle, Andrew J. Clawson; and a cousin, Heidi Grace Clawson. Family memorial services will be at a later date. Mr. Gordon died after a long illness at the home of his loving stepdaughter, Karen Moore. Marshall was born May 17, 1917, in Beaumont, Texas. He was educated at Texas Technological College in Lubbock, Texas, where he won the Border Conference singles tennis title in 1936. That same year he married Mary Beth Campbell of White Deer, Texas. Marshall served in the Navy in World War II. An accomplished musician, Marshall earned his master's degree at the Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N.J. He subsequently served as minister of music in churches in Brooklyn, N.Y., and in Lubbock and Amarillo, Texas. In 1958 Marshall began his 25-year tenure as the business manager of the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) in Amarillo. During this time Marshall continued to share his musical gifts with the Amarillo Symphony Chorus and the Amarillo Little Theatre. He also served as soloist and reader at First Church of Christ, Scientist. After the death of his first wife, Mary Beth, Marshall married Helen Rowland of Tulsa, Okla., in 1972. They moved to Tulsa upon Marshall's retirement from AQHA in 1983. There he continued working with varied musical programs, including those of Sixth Church of Christ, Scientist, the Coventry Singers and the Tulsa Civic Opera. A lifelong athlete, he won an international table tennis title for his 70-plus age group and various trophies. Upon the death of his second wife, Helen, in 1997, Marshall moved to Northern Virginia where he served as soloist with First Church of Christ, Scientist in Springfield, and he performed with the National Men's Chorus.
