He worked in construction and helped build the Discovery Center. Allison Vada V. Allison, 86, of Amarillo died Thursday, July 5, 2007. Mrs. Allison was born Aug. 23, 1920, to James and Laura Webster in Memphis. She graduated from Memphis High School in 1938 and from West Texas University in 1944. After graduating from WT she taught at Tulia High School. She later worked as an accountant for Allender's Furniture Store in Dalhart until October 1948. While in Dalhart she met and married Aubrey Allison, and they moved to Amarillo. He preceded her in death in 1996. Mrs. Allison was a charter member of Polk Street United Methodist Church Homebuilders' Class. The family extends their thanks to VistaCare Hospice for the love and comfort given Mrs. Allison. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Cash; and a brother, J.D. Webster. Survivors include a daughter, Gayle Anthony; a son, Jerry W. He served in the Vietnam War while in the Marines. He was a very caring person, loved his family and took care of his mother and father. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a carpenter, conductor, real estate investor and a "supervisor." He was the "Father" of the family and a man with a really big heart. He was preceded in death by his father, Neal Lucero. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery, with John Love, minister of Trinity Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Gibbs was born in Brownfield. He graduated from Hale Center High School in 1952. He married Teddye Ratliff on July 16, 1955, in Olton. Mr. Gibbs served in the U.S. Army from May 1953 to July 1956. He was a longtime employee of Garner Motors, which is now Auto Plex. He retired in 1995. He was also employed by Motor Parts of Amarillo. He was a member of Trinity Fellowship, where he served on a communion team. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Viola Gibbs; and a brother, Raymond Gibbs. Survivors include his wife, Teddye Gibbs; a son, James Scott Gibbs of Amarillo; two sisters, Joy Carr and husband John of Longview, Wanda Jeffreys and husband Jimmy of Clovis, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews. Debbie was born Jan. 11, 1960, in Hereford and grew up in Amarillo. She married Zane Wheeler in 1979, and they lived in Alaska until her death. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Ms. Cramer was born Dec. 18, 1945, in Rocky Ford, Colo., to Ernest and Betty Raven Mason. She had lived in Plainview from 1987 to 2007. Mrs. Cowley was born Jan. 17, 1919, in Martha, Okla., to Robert I. and Martha Borden Doughty. She married Kenneth Cowley on March 4, 1940, in Hobart, Okla. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1999. Mrs. Cowley was a longtime resident of Earth. She spent the last few years in Big Spring and Amarillo. She was a 60-year member of Earth United Methodist Church. She belonged to the Womans Society of Christian Service. She was a volunteer and church secretary for 17 years. She was an accomplished artist and authored many lines of poetry. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary Cowley; two great- grandchildren; five sisters; and a brother. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Wood was born Aug. 13, 1934, in Coleharbor, N.D. She attended West Valley High School in Spokane, Wash. She married Robert "Bob" Wood on Aug. 7, 1954, in Spokane. She came to Pampa with her husband in 1964. She was a member of the Garden Club, and the Genealogy Society. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in various roles. She and her husband served a mission in Columbus, Ohio, from February 2001 until February 2002. She loved music and loved to play the piano. She loved to garden, but most of all, she loved her Lord, her husband, children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ruth Allen; a sister, Betty Moore; a brother, Harry Allen Jr.; and a grandson, Aaron Wood. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery. Mr. Riley was born Dec. 27, 1925, in Gerty, and lived in the Panhandle area his whole life. He married Sue Coody on Dec. 22, 1946, in Pampa, Texas. Sue passed away in 1990. He was a veteran, having served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Riley was a pusher and a driller in the oil field until his retirement in 1987. After his retirement, he enjoyed raising and breaking horses and fishing with his family.
