There is an easy-to-see green and white sign along the highway indicating the turn down an unpaved road. The cemetery is located just beyond a 90-degree left turn in the road. It is about 25 yards off the road on the north side under a canopy of trees. The Levi Hinson homestead was originally to the south of the cemetery. There is a metal sign at the base of a large tree marking the cemetery. The cemetery is kept mowed. Some stones are in bad repair, and many of the graves are unmarked. The cemetery census was taken by Wayne and Sharon Smith of Gilmer, TX. It is based on a Sep 2000 survey done with help from Bob and Cheryl Leahy. It also compared listing with a survey completed in 1980. Headstones are found for the following individuals (complete name, when missing, in brackets[ ] when known): William Parks Allen born: 6 APR 1834 died: 27 SEPT 1901 [headstone inscription, front:] In my Father's house are many mansions] [on back of headstone:] Dearest father, thou has left us, / And our loss we deeply feel. / But 'tis God that has bereft us, / He can all our sorrows heal. / Yet again we hope to meet thee / When the day of life is fled / When in Heaven / with joy to greet thee, / Where no farewell / tear is shed.
