Humphries minor heir of George Humphries, deceased Application to Chose a guardian This day came Thomas B. Humphries, a minor heir of George Humphries, deceased into open court and said minor being over the age of fourteen years and made chooice of John Humphries as his guardian and requested the court to appoint said John Humphries as his guardian and there being no objections made or filed said why said Humphries should not have Letters of Guardianship upon the Estate of Thomas B. Humphries minor as aforesaid it is therefore ordered by the Court that said John Humphries be and be wholey appointed Guardian of the Estate and Person of Thomas B. Humphries minor heir of George Humphries deceased that he be required to enter into Bond in the sum Thirteen Hundred Dollars with good and suffiecient security to be approved by Court conditioned for the faithful performance of his duties as Guardian aforesaid. ............... followed by the same type of filing for James M. Humphries, minor heir of George Humphries who is petitioning to appoint George C. Humphries his guardian. ................. Red River County, Texas, Probate Book ; page 68 County Court Pertaining to Estates December Term 1855 Estate and Person of Thomas B Humphries John Humphries, Guardian Application to Chose a Guardian In this cause the Court at its December Term AD 1855 made its order appointing John Humphries Guardian of Thomas B. Humphries and requiring him to enter into Bond as Guardian as aforesaid in the sum of Thirteen Hundred Dollars with good and sufficient security conditioned for the said performance of his duties as guardian of the aforesaid and the said John Humphries having appeared before the Clerk of this Court in vacation to wit: on the 17th day of December AD 1855 and tendered his bond in the sum of thirteen hundred dollars with William Guest and James Ward as his securities who each severally signed sealed and delivered the same condition for the faithful performance of his duties as aforesaid and the said Humphries taking the oath of office prescribed by Law as guardian to aforesaid and said having been presented to [Albert H Latimer Chief Justice of Red River County and approved by him on the fifteenth day of December AD 1855 it is therefore ordered by the Court that Letters of Guardianship be granted to said appl icant John Humphreys upon the Estate and Person of Thomas B.
