Splawn sold to his sister, Martha E. Splawn Ezell, both of Red River County, Texas, 2 tracts of land in Red River County consisting of 868 acres for $2,000 cash. Land was described as follows: 1st tract - 640 acres known as the B.M. Wall survey about 14 miles NE from Clarksville bounded as follows: beginning at a stake the corner of the J. Bowerman survey, thence S25W with the line of Hopkins survey 1200 varas to a stake, thence west 1140 varas to a stake thence north with E.B. line of the G. Martin survey 2680 varas to a stake, thence east 790 varas to stake, thence south 580 varas to a stake, thence east 850 varas to a stake, thence south 1012 varas to the beginning. 2nd tract - 228 acres of the Patsey Kitchens & G.W. Sawyers and J. Bowerman survey, the metes and bounds of which described as follows: beginning at a stake the SE corner of the Patsey Kitchens survey, thence West 157 varas to one of John Walls corners, thence south 101 varas to a stake, thence west 1670 varas to a stake in the E.B. line of the B.W. Wall survey, thence north 635 varas to a stake, thence east 2006 varas to a stake in west boundary line of the John Wall survey, thence south 17 W. 613 varas to the beginning. This conveyance was made subject to certain mortgages & deeds of trust liens heretofore given on said lands and filed of record in the County Clerks Office of Red River County.
