The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** William Ayers Marshall was born in Marshall Prairie in Boons County, near Western Grove, Arkansas, February 22, 1871 and passed away at the home of a son, 8 miles northeast of Allison, Texas at 7:30 a.m., July 31, 1953 at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 9 days. He was a member of the Baptist church of Reydon, Oklahoma and a retired farmer. He had resided in that community for 48 years, the last 10 years of which were spent at the home of a son, James. On June 22, 1891 he was married to Mary Anny Iona Gray. To this union were born 12 children, nine of whom survive, They are: Lee Marshall of Williams, Oregon; Mrs. Lillie Scrivner of Parma, Idaho; W.A. Marshall of Lamont, California; James Marshall of Reydon, Oklahoma; Homer Marshall of Talent, Oregon; Bryan Marshall of Phoenix, Oregon; Mrs. Audrey Folsom of Pecos, Texas; Lindsey Marshall of Reydon, Oklahoma; Marion Marshall of Jacksonville, Oregon; 32 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Tina Willis of Carnegie, Oklahoma, also survive. he was preceded in death by his wife, two daughters, one son, four brothers and four sisters. The funeraal was held at Community building at Reydon, Oklahoma at 2:00 o'clock August 1, 1953 with the Rev Homer Woodard assisted by Rev. Carl Simonton, officiating. Serving as pall bearers were: R.H. Vincent, O.T. Parks, Hartley, Orville Conrad, Alva Butler, Neeley Yowell.\ Interment was in Rankin-White Rose cemetery at Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, beside the wife who passed away January 9, 1935, under the direction of the Kirk-Mason Funeral Home of Wheeler, Texas.
