"The State of Texas } Refugio County } Julian Roche, being duly sworn according to law, declares and says that he is a native of the Republic of Mexico and a subject of the president of said republic, that he is now residing in the county of Refugio aforesaid; that he is forty years of age or thereabouts, and that it is bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty whatever, and particularly to the president of the Republic of Mexico of which Republic he is now a subject.
