The State of Texas } County of Refugio } Be it remembered that on the 28th day of April 1860, the Honorable the County Court of Refugio County met in Special Term for the transaction of County business, present C.G. Norton Chief Justice and D.C. Doughty and John A. Barber County Commissioners, C.G. Norton, Deputy County Clerk. Dr. W.P. McGrew having presented his bill for services rendered at a Jury of Inquest on the body of an unknown infant and for examining Mrs. E. Smith the person supposed to be the mother of same; and said bill amounting to ten dollars, it is allowed and the Clerk is hereby ordered to issue a draft on the Treasurer for the same. P. Byrne having rendered his horses for assessment at Sixteen dollars per head it is ordered by the Court that they be raised to Twenty Dollars per head. Jose Castillo having rendered his horses for assessment at Twelve Dollars per head it is ordered by the Court that they be raised to Twenty Dollars per head. Mr. Whelan having rendered his horses for assessment at Fifteen Dollars per head it is ordered by the Court that they be raised to Twenty Dollars per head. It is ordered that the Court stand adjourned until tomorrow morning at nine o'clock a.m.
