T. (Addie) Maris Mrs. W. T. Maris passed away at the Torbett Hospital in Marlin at 8:15 o'clock Friday July 27, 1956. She had been ill for several weeks. Funeral services were held at the Franklin Baptist Church at 4 o'clock in the afternoon Saturday July 28th with Reverend Justice Anderson and Rev. J. L. Wallace officiating. Pall bearers were Roe W. Jackson of Marquez, W. C. Jackson of Houston, Liuell Maris of Calvert, Robert Lloyd Jackson, Jack L. Maris, Hill Lomax, and Luther Cole of Franklin. Addie Hester Maris, daughter of Alfred L. Brigance and Elizabeth Hudspeth, was born April 16, 1870 at Owensville, Texas. At the age of seventeen she was converted and joined the Franklin Baptist Church. She had been a member of this church for sixty-nine years at the time of her death. The greater portion of her life was spent in Franklin where she had many friend among all ages. Surviving are one son, C. E. Maris of Franklin, one foster son, W. D. Maris of Franklin, and three grandchildren.
