James Truitt Born Dec  6, 1820
             Died Aug 30, 1904  

Mr. Truitt was born in Kentucky.  He went to Illinois when a boy of 14 and came
to Texas in 1844.  He joined Col. Jack Hays regiment served in the Mexican War
two years.  In 1849 he came to what is now Rockwall County.

Additional Comments:
James Truitt was the son of John Truitt Born in Sussex, County Delaware 1792
      Died in Illinois 1867 and Jane Kennedy born in Pennsylvania 1793.
