J. Lett, 86, resident of West Texas since 1907, died at her home in Winters Thursday evening. Mrs. Lett had lived in Winters since 1943. She was born Sally Emma Estes on Dec 1, 1860, in Wetumpka, Ala., and married on Sept. 1, 1876. The couple moved to Bell county in 1900 and to Haskell County in 1907. Mrs Lett was a member of the Primitive Baptist church in Anson. Funeral arrangements are incomplete because of illness of a daughter, Mrs. W. T. Curtis of Rule. Other survivors are a son, A. J. Lett of Winters; two daughters Mrs. C. W. Williams of Winters and Mrs. C. H. Copeland of Brownwood; 22 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren. Abilene Reporter-News Sat May 3, 1947 Lett Funeral at Winters Saturday Winters, May 2 -- Funeral for Mrs. A. J. Lett, Sr. 86, who died at her home here Thursday, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist church with the pastor, the Rev. L. L. Trott, officiating. Burial will be in Northview cemetery. Mrs. Lett, who died just six weeks after the death of her husband, had lived in Winters since 1943. The former Sally Emma Estes, she was born Dec 1, 1860 in Wetumpka, Ala.
