GRIFFIN CEMETERY Location: About two miles east of Brachfield, north of Murvaul Bayou. Number of graves: 8 - 10 Number of identifiable graves: 3 Number of non-identifiable marked graves: 1 Earliest known grave: 1888 Latest known grave: 1890 Race count: all white, presumably Located in open country on a small hill among two or three large oak trees. Three markers were legible, one found leaning against a tree and the other two and possibly the remains of a fourth were broken and scattered. The cement markers have suffered many years of decay, making it difficult to read them. The cemetery fronts the old Alex Griffin homeplace, who is believed to have had two wives buried here as well as these children and probably other members of the family.
