OLD MINDEN CEMETERY Location: About one mile northest ofo Minden, north of FM 1798 Number of graves: 15-25 Number of identifiable graves: 3 Number of non-identifiable marked graves: 3-5 Earliest known grave: 1883 Latest known grave: 1892 Age percentage range: 67% adults, 33% infants and/or children Race count: All white, presumably Locataed in open pasture near the edge of moderate woodland, cleverly concealed in a grove of large trees. This is the former site of an early Methodist church and schoolhouse, which was probably at one time the center of the Minden Community. All that is left today are a few graves in the cemetery and some old oak trees. Three graves were identifiable, all Deasons, while a few more were marked with native iron ore rocks, one of which appeared to have been hand-carved into a perfect cube. All of the graves were contained within the grove of trees. The Deasons buried here were of the same family as those buried in the Lewis Cemetery, another lost cemetery about one mile to the northwest.
