Vansickle of said county am held and firmly bound unto William Montgomery of the same place in the sum of one thousand dollars par money for the payment of which well and truly to be made, I bind myself, my heirs and assigns, jointly and severly by these presents seald with my seal and dated this 15th day of October 1843. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the said Vansickle has sold to the said Montgomery for one dollar and fifty cents per acre a certain tract of land, Beginning on the South Bank of the Merralo Creek on the East Boundary line of a survey belonging to Dyer Houston, Thence south on said 670 varas to a post on the South Boundary of said Vansickles headright Survey and from which a _____ 12 inches in diameter N 12 E 6 Vs. and Thence East on said old line 1700 varas to a post whence an ash 4 in. in diam E 12 vs and thence South 1400 varas to a corner on a Ro (red oak?) 18 in diam, a Hickory 8 in diam an ash 3 in diam growning in a Bunch, thence West to the Branch on which said Montgomery lives Thence down said Branch untill it intersects with the Merralo Creek, thence up said Creek with the meanders thereof to the Beginning, containing Three hundred and Twenty acres more or less. Now if the said Vansickle shall make or cause to be made to the said Montgomery his heirs and assigns a good and lawful Title to the said tract of Land in fee simple as soon as he can obtain a pattent from the Government for the Same, then this obligation to be Void, otherwise to remain in full force in Law.
