All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Henderson Daily News, unknown date Bolton Funeral Held At Bethel Sunday afternoon at the Bethel Methodist Church, funeral rites were held for Alonzo Bolton, a native of the Bethel Community, who succumbed unexpectedly Saturday morning in the Henderson Memorial Hospital. Son of the late J. W. Bolton, Mr. Bolton was 78 years of age at the time of his death. He was a retired veteran of the U. S. Navy, first entering the service of his country in 1900. After receiving his discharge in 1919, he re-entered the Navy in World War II. He later retired with the rank of Chief Boilermaker. In addition to his many years of duty to his country, Mr. Bolton also served the Bethel Methodist Church on the Board of Stewards for about 30 years. The Rev. B. W. Waltman officiated at the rites with Crawford's A. Crim Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers included Otho Morris, Walter Morris, L. J. Rives, L. O. Dent, A. V. Milstead, Rade Harper, Allen Youngblood, and Jack Moore. Mr. Bolton is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Lee Bolton of Henderson; one sister, Mrs. Effie Smith of Livingston; three brothers, Winfield Bolton and Wes Bolton of Henderson and J. C. Bolton of Huntsville. [died 11-28-1959]
