All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** George Elwin YORK d. 18 Aug 1986 Funeral services for George Elwin 'Buddy' York, 52, of Tatum were held Wed in Colonial chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home with Pastor Morris Ivey and Pastor Mike Buie officiating. Burial was in Tatum Cemetery. Mr. York died Monday in Holiday Lodge Nursing Center in Longview after several months illness. Born Dec 23, 1933 in Rusk County, he was the son of George William York and Donye M. Morton York, both deceased. He attended Tatum public schools and was employed at the city of Tatum water department. He was previously a repairman for the Tatum Telephone Company. Mr. York was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Faye Alexander York of Tatum; one son, George E. 'Bubba' York Jr. of Tatum; four daughters, Mrs. Edward (Linda) Vaughn of Morris, OK, Mrs. Dale (Yvonne) Turlington and Stephanie York both of Tatum and Charlsie Gaspar of Longview; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Allan (Lillia) Hise and Mrs. Douglas (Joyce) Daniels, both of Tatum; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Jack Young, Rayford Gibson, Murray adams, Johnny Hill, Johnny Gray and Wayne Fulgham.
