To have and to hold the said negro girl to said Betsy Ann and to her own seperate use and benefit for and during the time of her natural life and then to the issue of her body Lawfully begotten forever. And I the said William Thompson for myself, my heirs, executors & administrators the right and title to the said negro girl unto the said Betsy Ann Rodes, her heirs and assigns will and do forever warrant and defend by virtue of these presents. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 21st day of August 1831. Wm.
