BOBBITT FAMILY CEMETERY, San Augustine County, Texas, was photographed and
recorded on April 3, 2010, by Bob Britnell and sister, Sandra Britnell.  As is
our custom, we photographed each individual headstone, and will provide pictures
to anyone who wants them. This cemetery includes a memorial marker to members of
the Hobdy family, buried near the old home place on their nearby plantation,
whose burial site cannot be located. 

DIRECTIONS:  from San Augustine, go south on US96 to SR103; turn right and go a
couple of miles to FM1751 and turn left. Go about 6.5 miles to the white sign on
the left at the cemetery. Transcriptions are recorded exactly as they appear on
the individual headstones; comments in parentheses were added by this
researcher.  (fhm) denotes a small funeral home marker.

The first 5 names are engraved on small brass plates mounted on a concrete
block, and were intended to be placed at the burial place on the Hobdy
plantation; when the burial ground couldn't be located, these plates were
installed inside the fence at the Bobbitt Cemetery, and a memorial historical
marker was installed nearby:
