All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** The Abilene Reporter Newws Friday, December 5, 1960 Hermleigh Farmer Dies HERMLEIGH - Harvie Conway Campbell, 69, farmer who lived east of Hermleigh, died monday in Simmons Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater of a heart ailment. Mr. Campbell was born 16 August 1891 in Hume, MO, and came to Texas with his parents when he was 2. He married Ora Farr of Hermleigh on 17 June 1919. The family had lived in Hermleigh since 1929. Mr. Campbell was a member of the Central Baptist church and was ordained a deacon 25 years ago. He was an active worker in the church until his illness. He was a member of the World War 1 Veterans organization in Scurry County, Carroll Porter Barrack 1738, Sndyer. Funeral at Central Baptist church with Rev. L.R. Stuckey, pastor, officiating. Burial in the Pyron cemetery under the direction of Bell Funeral home of Snyder. Pallbearers: W.A. Voss, W.C. Fargson, R.H. McHaney, Grover Wall, Gaither May and Jim Far.. Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife; 2 sons - Nathan and Fred, both of Hermleigh, 4 grandchildren; his mother - Mrs. C.J. Campbell of Hermleigh; 4 sisters - Mrs. O.L. Sanders of Littlefield, Mrs. W.T. Hall of Ganado, AZ, Mrs. W.E. Grimes of Copperas Cove, Edith Campbell of Hermleigh.
