Butler, well known Druggist, has been actively identified with the business circles of Dallas since 1918. He is the proprietor of Butler's Oak Lawn Pharmacy at 3902 Cedar Springs and has built up an extensive trade. Before locating permanently in Dallas, Mr. Butler traveled extensively throughout the Southwest for ten years and was with Texas Southwest and San Antonio Drug Company. He was located for a time in the city of Tyler and came to Dallas in 1914. In 1918 he bought the Drug Store of which he is proprietor and has built up a popular and growing trade. He carries a complete line of drugs and sundries and employs two registered druggists. Mr. Butler's drug store is permanently located, he owning the building that houses his business, as well as the two stories adjoining which he leases. Since coming to Dallas in 1914, Mr. Butler has owned and operated three other drug stores, the North Loop Pharmacy in Oak Cliff, Howard's pharmacy in South Dallas and Butler-Scott Pharmacy at Bryant and Ervay Streets. Mr. Butler was born in Starrville in Smith County, Texas, September 28th, 1885. His parents were Robert Henry Clay Butler and Ella (Gray) Butler. His father was a lawyer in Tyler but has retired to the old Butler Plantation in Starrville. Earl Butler was educated in the Public Schools of Smith County after which he entered an active business life. As stated above, he has owned several drug stores in Dallas and has engaged in both the retail and wholesale business. The marriage of Mr. Butler to Miss Lillian Porter took place in Dallas in 1915. They have one child, Lillian. Mr. Butler is a Thirty- second Degree Scotish Rite Mason and holds membership in Hella Temple Shrine, Glen-Haven Country Club, and is Past President of the Retail Druggist Association. The Butler's reside at 4004 Lexington Avenue, Highland Park.
