THOS. S. HILL.

Thomas Spencer Hill was born in Williamson County, Tenn., 
Aug. 9th 1824. Volunteered in the Confederate Army from Panola County, 
Texas in 1863 and was killed by a bomb shell April 8th 1864 in the 
battle of Mansfield, La.  He serv­ed in the Trans-Mississippi department 
under Gen. E. Kirby Smith, and gave up his life in the defence of what 
he con­ceived to be right.  His widow, Mrs. D. A. Hi1l and daugh­ter 
Mrs. Annie Hill Lasseter reside in Tyler.
