Johnson THOS. S. HILL. Thomas Spencer Hill was born in Williamson County, Tenn., Aug. 9th 1824. Volunteered in the Confederate Army from Panola County, Texas in 1863 and was killed by a bomb shell April 8th 1864 in the battle of Mansfield, La. He serv­ed in the Trans-Mississippi department under Gen. E. Kirby Smith, and gave up his life in the defence of what he con­ceived to be right. His widow, Mrs. D. A. Hi1l and daugh­ter Mrs. Annie Hill Lasseter reside in Tyler.
