Johnson JAMES W. LONG. James W Long, born in the State of Georgia 16th day of September 1846. Removed to Texas in 1852. Enlisted in company K, 5th Texas cavalry, Tom Green's old regiment, at Weatherford, Texas. Was with Gen. Tom Green's brigade in the campaigns, and with Gen. Green when he was killed. His first brigade commander was Gen. Sibly. In Dec.16, 1881 he was married to Miss Alice McCormick. Post office, Tyler, Texas.
