Johnson CLAYTON B. MILFORD. Clayton B. Milford, born in South Carolina in 1847. Removed to Texas in 1870 and settled in Smith county. En­tered the service in company G, Orr' 5 regiment of South Carolina Rifles and gave the South three years of devoted service in the Northern Army of Virginia. He was captured April 2, 1865, just one month before the surrender of Gen. Lee at Appomatox. He was in the battles of the Wilder-ness, Spotsylvania, Deep Bottom, Riddles Shop, Dinwiddie, and the campaigns around Petersburg and Richmond. In 1872 he was married to Miss Ellen Kay, who died in 1882. A good citizen and leading man of his neighborhood. His post office is Winona, Texas.
