H. Brown Parlor. Previously library had been sponsored by various organizations within the church during the hundred years. The first was housed in the church building which faced North Bois d'Arc Avenue. The Baracas Class sponsored and had charge of the second library, keeping the books in their classroom. No volumes from these former libraries are contained in the present one. For the past two years there has been an appropriation in the church budget for a library, but it was not until January 1948 that final plans were made to house and equip one. A book selecting committee consisting of Miss Orlena Roberts, librarian and the following were appointed: Mrs. F. Stuteville, Mrs. John Stephens, Mrs. B. 0. Mehearg, Mrs. Hartzell Wilson, Mr. Craven Beard and Mr. D. E. Killiam. The library began with four hundred well chosen volumes. Miss Roberts has two able assistants, Miss Johnnye Pierce and Miss Jean Kay.
