B. Nichols and M. L. Nichols wife of said D. B. Nichols of the above county and state. In consideration of two provisionary notes. the first note calls for five bales cotton to class low middling and to weigh 500 lbs each and due 1st day of Dec. 1883. Second notes calls for five bales cotton the same to class low midling and to weigh 500 lbs each due 1st day of Dec 1884. The receipt of the above discribed notes is hereby fully acknowledged have granted sold and conveyed and by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey unto James C. Parker of the County and State aforesaid. The following described property to wit! A certain piece or tract of land off the John Bell Survey situated in the County of Smith and State of Texas about one & one half miles east of Starrville bounded thus on the west by a tract of land formerly owned by Lewis Stillwell and now occupied by D. B. Nichols. On the South by the Russ Starr place. On the east by Terrel Jefferies and on the North by the Nichols Survey and containing sixty acres more or less. Together with all and singular the rights member improvements, here atidaments and appurtainances to the same belonging on or anywise appertaining to have to hold all and singular the premises above mentioned until the said Jas C. Parker his heirs & assigns forever and we D. B. Nichols and M. L. Nichols hereby bind our heirs executors and administrator's to warrant & forever defend all & singular the premisses unto the said J. C. Parker his heirs & assigns against every person whom forever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof. Witness our hands at Starrville this the 2nd day of Oct 1882 D. B. Nichols M. L. Nichols State of Texas County of Smith Before me H. C. Huggins a notary public in & for the said county & state on this day personally appeared D. B. Nichols and M. L. Nichols his wife known to me to be the persons whose names are subscribed to the foregoing instrument and acknoweges to me that they executed the same for the purpose & consideration threin expressed and she the said M. L. Nichols having been examined by me privally & apart from her husband and having the same fully explained to her she the said M. L. Nichols ackowledged such instrument to be her act & deed & declared that she had willingly signed the same for the purposes & considerations therein expressed and that she wishes not to retract it. Elfreeda "Freedy" Carter who married secondly Henry Franklin King. Freedy and Henry also lived on the property raising their five children there.
