The building will be completed by July 5, and the splendid display will be ready for the opening on July 15. ---------------------------------------------------- From Wills Point Chronicle, Thursday, June 27, 1895: Tyler is going the whole hog in the Fruit Palace question. The Palace will be a big thing for Tyler and Texas. E. J Pope, of the Troupe Banner, visited relatives and friends in the city Sunday. He was accompanied by his mother who will remain several weeks visiting her daughter, Mrs. Langham. --------------------------------------------------- From Wills Point Chronicle, Thursday, July 4, 1895: We acknowledge receipt of a complimentary ticket to the Fruit Palace to be held at Tyler, opening the 19th inst., and running till Aug. 1st. Troupe, Smith county, is now having a fine school building erected. ---------------------------------------------------- From Wills Point Chronicle, Thursday, July 11, 1895: Miss Clemmie Pruett of Lindale returned home Monday after visiting W. D. Goodnight and family for several weeks. Miss J. G. Nunally of Lindale and Miss Noma Tull of Canton have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ennis Peace this week. ---------------------------------------------------- From Wills Point Chronicle, Thursday, Oct. 10, 1895: At Tyler, recently, R. R. Hatton was bitten by a mad dog in the face and on the body. A madstone was applied and he is considered out of danger, though the bites on his face are very painful. The first issue of the Lindale Weekly News found its way to our this week. It is a neat six column folio. We wish its proprietors, Johnson & Newton, success. John R. Henderson of Troupe, an ex-Van Zandter, passed through the city Sunday on his return home from a visit to old friends in this county. ---------------------------------------------------- From Wills Point Chronicle, Thursday, Oct. 24, 1895: E. J. Pope, of Troupe was shaking hands with friends in the city Sunday. --------------------------------------------------- From Wills Point Chronicle, Thursday, Nov. 7, 1895: The Tyler Daily Dispatch, a new paper by Shockley, Carleton & Co., has reached our table. It is a bright five-column folio, and is already advertising for stove-wood on subscription. Mrs. Ellen Jarvis, of Troupe, is the guest of R. R. Jarvis and family.
