HOLT.—Margaret Alexander Holt, daughter of Lee and Josephine Holt, 
died at home, on the fifth instant, in Smith county, after a short 
illness; aged eight years seven months and six days. A child of 
pure religious culture. She applied for church membership two 
weeks ago, and was received. She was not rational for some time 
before she died. Her ma had been in the habit of taking her into 
a room at a certain hour for prayers. Among the last words she 
spoke was to ask her ma if she had been to prayers. Thus passed 
away one of the sweetest of little girls.
