OBITUARY: Harriet Catherine Bell Engledow, 6 Sep 1906 - Smith Co, TX Contributed by Gayle Basaldu March 12, 2004 Copyright. All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************************** Source Unknown Resolutions of Respect. Whereas, It has pleased our Heavenly Father to remove from our midst, Sister Engledow, one of our most worthy members and one whom to know was to love. She was indeed a friend to the friendless and a solace to those in trouble. The day was never too cold nor the night too dark for her to go and minister unto the sick. She loved her Lord and Master and felt that in administering unto His Children she was ministering unto Him. She was a devoted Christian and a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was the oldest and one of the most enthusiastic members of the Rathbone Sisters. Though dead, yet she speaks to us from the solitude of the grave, by deeds of kindness and consecration, calling all of us to a higher standard of Christian living. Therefore, Be It Resolved, That while we lament Sister Harriet Engledow's decease and feel her loss keenly, nevertheless we bow in humble submission to the will of God and we rejoice to know that she has entered into her rest. We feel assured that when Christ returns to judge the world in righteousness, we shall see her among the glorified and be permitted to dwell with her on the shores of sweet deliverance forever. Be It Further Resolved, That we extend to the bereaved ones our heartfelt and sincere sympathy. We recommend that these resolutions be spread on our minutes and a copy be furnished the Troupe Banner and also a copy to the family of the deceased. Respectfully submitted. Mrs. J. H. Sharp Mrs. C.
