B. H. GREATHOUSE AFTER A LONG AND LINGERING ILLNESS WIFE OF FORMER PASTOR OF MARVIN CHURCH PASSES AWAY The sad information reached this city yesterday afternoon, Mrs. B. H. Greathouse departed this life at her home in the city of Longview, Texas. She was the wife of Rev. B. H. Greathouse who was pastor of Marvin church in this city for four years, his pastorate ending five yers ago. During the stay of Rev. Greathouse and his wife and children in Tyler, our people became very much attached to them. Rev. Greathouse is one of the ablest ministers that has ever served a Tyler congregation, and during his stay in Tyler of four years he and his family made friends of all our people; hence the news of the death of Mrs. Greathouse is deeply regretted by every citizen of Tyler. The remains were brought to Tyler this morning over the I. & G. N. R. R. and were interred in the city cemetery at 12:30 this afternoon. A large concourse of people assembled at the depot, and followed the hearse to the cemetery. It was one of the largest funeral processions ever witnessed in our city, and is one of the evidences that though the family has been away from Tyler for five years Mrs. Greathouse was still remembered by our people who turned out to pay their last respects to a true Christian, a loving wife and a devoted mother who has passed on to a bright reward in heaven. Dr. Greathouse and his sons returned to their home in Longview this afternoon. They were accompanied on their sad mission to Tyler by a number of friends living in the city of Longview. Among them we observed Marvin Kelley, Jack Yates, Claud Lacy, Ed Crain, W. V. Whitelock, Chas. Thornton, Newt. Oden, Mrs. Fambrough and Mrs. Lacy.
