Miss Clara Horner, who was burned on Saturday, February 25, died this morning at 6 o'clock. In our Saturday's issue, we stated that she was improving and would likely recover. This was the opinion of the doctors then, but she began to sink last night and died this morning. This is sad news to the many who loved her. She was a girl who made friends of all her acquaintances. She was bright and attractive possessing a lovely disposition, and scattered sunshine wherever she went. We believe this is the first time within the history of our High school that one of the members of the graduating class has died. The class is deeply grieved over the loss of one of its members. The Courier joins her many friends and the whole town in extending condolence to her family. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Copied from microfilm at the Tyler Public Library, 10 August 2001 Mary Love Berryman The funeral services were held at Liberty Hill cemetery this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock.
