Mrs. Pearl Shuford Dead. 15th day of June 1884 and married to Mr. Gene Shuford Sept. 23rd 1900. and died February 5th, 1905. Pearl was the eldest daughter of Dr. J. W. Shuford, who died some years ago, and Mrs. M. J. Shuford, who resides 2 1/2 miles south of Tyler. Pearl was happily married and greatly cherished by her husband, whose bereavement has been great from the loss of a lovely and Christian companion. She was a devoted member of the Methodist church, and lived up to the requirements of her church. She sufferer before death, having been dangerously sick for several months, but during her illness she never complained and placed implicit confidence in her religious faith and looked to the future for her great reward for her many Christian duties performed in this life. Devoted to husband, mother, brothers and sisters made up a life of sacrifice for the happiness of others. Pearl was a lovable character, and during her short life scattered sunshine in the path of others because of her good Christian impulses that sweetens life with the perfection of love amd the environments of force that benefits others and leaves a charm of good works behind that impressed others that life is lovely when we desire it. Pearl was converted at Lane's Chapel under the ministry of Rev. C. H. Smith, her great uncle, and remained devoted to her Christian faith until called up higher by Him who knows all things and works in mysterious ways for his children that love Him. To the bereaved husband, mother and family who feel so heavily the loss in the death of Pearl we can only point them to rest easy in the same assurance that the loss to them is an angel gained beyond the great dividing line in the great house, not made with human hands, but the abiding place for all who love the Lord . . . .ONE WHO KNEW HER.
