All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************************************* Source: Tyler Daily Courier-Times, Tyler, Texas Monday, February 10, 1913 IN MEMORIAM The Almighty God in his wisdom of power saw fit to remove from this world William Franklin Sitton Sunday night, Feb. 9, 1913, at 9:45 at his home, 320 East Locust. He had been suffering for several months of a dread disease. His friends never realized that his death was so near until the last few weeks. He bore his suffering with a peaceful r esignation and a patience such as could come only from a good Christian life. Mr. Sitton was born in Smith county at Lindale, Nov. 21, 1878. He was married to Miss Mollie Williams, November 27, 1904. They lived one year at Lindale, moving to Tyler, where they have since resided. He is survived by his widow and child, Mary Louise, besides a host of other relatives and friends. Deceased was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge, Fraternal Brotherhood and Carmen. His remains were carried to Swan on the 11 o’clock train Tuesday morning. Interment in Hopewell cemetery that evening. To the family we extend our deepest sympathy in this their darkest hour. Frank Sitton, a well-known Cotton Belt employee passed away last night at 9:45 at his home on East Locust street. He had been ill for several days, and his death was not unexpected. He is survived by his widow. Deceased was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge and a committee will accompany the remains to Swan tomorrow morning at 11 o’clock, where interment will take place at Hopewell graveyard. Mr. Sitton was about 40 years of age and was born and reared in Smith county. He was popular and well-liked in the Cotton Belt shops.
