BESS WIGGINS PASSED AWAY ONE OF THE OLDEST CITIZENS OF SMITH COUNTY DIED AT 11 O'CLOCK TODAY. News reached the city at noon today of the death of Mrs. Bess Wiggins, widow of the late Elihu Wiggins, which occurred at 11 o'clock this morning at the family home ? miles north of the city. Mrs. Wiggins was 85 years of age and had lived at the same place since first coming to the county, about 42 years ago. Deceased was a native of Alabama. Mr. Wiggins, her husband, who passed away some months ago, was nearly 90 years of age. Only one son survives, Dolph Wiggins, one of the best known farmers of Smith County. Deceased was a member of the Baptist church of many years standing and during her younger days was very active in the discarge of every duty placed on her. The funeral will occur, tomorrow at Harris Creek cemetery, near the old home place
