Mr. Wallace was at one time a citizen of Tyler, but for a number of years has resided near Winona, where he was raised. He was a son of Joe Wallace, one of the best known old settlers of the county. Deceased was married to Miss Jarvis, daughter of Squire Jarvis of Lindale. He was about 35 years of age and leaves a wife and three children. He had been in a low state of health for about two years, caused by a calculus, or lime stone in the bladder. He came to this city and on last Sunday an operation was performed on him and the stone which weighed three ounces and ten grains, was removed. Being already weak, the operation was more than he could hold up under, and he passed away this morning at the hour above stated. Friends and acquaintances deeply sympathize with the wife and her little children in the loss of husband and father.
